Re: LIM gasket

As long the coolant elbow does not break you do not need to replace it again. I would think that the o-rings on the supercharger would not need to be replaced again.

Re: LIM gasket

If the car hasn't been ran for very long and the supercharger gasket comes off ok, you should be good there too.

Not sure what I would do on the LIM gaskets.

BTW, what torque did you use on the LIM bolts?

Re: LIM gasket

For the cost I'd replace the LIM gaskets with the FelPro brand. It should be under $50. Also, it would be a good idea to take the LIM to an auto machine shop and make sure it is true or not warped which does happen.

Re: LIM gasket

Torque specs look good, you did tighten in sequence, right?

I dont know what to tell ya.

Are you sure the valley gaskets are in the right direction?

(Refir to the pictures in this post) Both Bob and I used the felpro set although the GM set shouldnt be much different.

Re: LIM gasket

Whats up guys.
Yes I did tighten them in sequence, and Im going to start putting it apart today, and see how the valley strips look.
From what it looks now, seems that the one thats leaking might of moved.
Oh, well lets hit it for the firm......
and I will make sure I "gooh" up the corners with blak rtv!

I will keep you guys updated.

Re: LIM gasket

I just finished taking it apart and looks like there wasnt enough rtv sealant on the driver side valley strip, under the throttle body.

Uhmmmm, I guess I'll be gooin' it up this time...

Re: LIM gasket

Just finished up putting the GTP back together, took the GM aluminum gaskets off and replaced them with Felpro's.

all I need is the PCV yellow rubber o-ring!
Is this something I can buy separate or do I have to buy the whole pcv?

Re: LIM gasket

You had to remove the PCV Valve from the supercharger?

You should just be able to go to the dealership and buy a new O-Ring. Might as well replace the PCV Valve while you have it out.

Re: LIM gasket

Question guys. That yellow o-ring im talking about, it is from the pcv valve isnt it?
I went to autozone and they showed me a regular looking pcv valve and the one on top of my supercharger has three hoses going to it!
What is that then?

Re: LIM gasket

There should be two yellow O-rings, they go on top of the LIM, under the supercharger. They flow coolant to your throttle body.

Re: LIM gasket

hey tblake,
The part im talking about is called " manifold vaccum seal" according the a tech at gillespie pontiac in chicago.
and what I need is the o-ring for it.
but unfortunetly they didnt stock it, and I needed my car.
so I went to autozone and bought myself an o-ring kit, and found one that was snug for that piece. and it worked.

This piece sits piece sits on top of the supercharger wich has three ports, and I know the big hose goes by the master cylinder.

All im hoping for it now, is to not leak!
Wish me luck.

Re: LIM gasket

Ahh, yeah I know what your talking about now.

Good Luck!

I'm sure you'll be fine!

BTW, My LIM gasket has been leaking since january/february, and friday its supposed to be nice here, so I'll probably get it changed.

I did order the metal framed gaskets from GM, so I hope they do alright for me.
