Re: How much freaking snow do you have right now.

Rockland County, New York

We experienced about a solid 2 minutes of clarity before the snowfall resumed.

Yeah, Buffalo has kinda mellowed out over the years. Not like it was back in the '70s-'80s. Syracuse has been kickin' their ass every year in total snowfall. They set up a contest(called "The Golden Snowball Award,) many years ago between Buffalo, Rochester, and Syracuse to see which city gets the most snow in a season, and Syracuse has walked away with the award about 95%of the time This year they're about 20" behind us (as usual).

Re: How much freaking snow do you have right now.

All our snow is already gone from yesterday. Not because of the heat, hahaha, noooo... Continuous barage of freezing rain! Its all a messy, icey slush better known as a "wintry mix"...from a frozen hell. Its a good thing i shoveled last night, cuz one shovel-load of this shit will break your back.

I was talking to my boss, who grew up here, and he said that when he was a kid after the winter was over one year they had to extend the thelephone poles in front of his shop because the snow piled up so high you could reach the wires... Thats a lot of freakin snow!

I'll take the snow any day over tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes, etc. We get an occasional tornado every few years, the remnants of hurricanes that come up from the South and dump a lot of rain, and other weather anomalies that are far worse in other parts of the country. At least the snow tends to be less damaging,( save for some building roofs which collapsed in the area over the past few weeks because of the snowload,)and any damage isn't as widespread over an area like other severe weather occurrences.
