Re: 2 Fast 2 Furious... Part 2

starting on finishing the interior. Tanks are made from wood dowel. Wrapped in silver tape and wires for the holders.

Waiting for things to dry to attach them all to the base. Working on the decals for the dash and gauges. more updates to come.

Re: 2 Fast 2 Furious... Part 2

t thought so too but it's scaled correctly. 6.75 diameter scaled down is .28 and the dowel is .25..... the tank is 22.75 so almost an inch. I'll check photos but don't really want to rebuild them.

oh and the lines were never hooked up in the movie so.... not sure if I should

Re: 2 Fast 2 Furious... Part 2

Very slow progress it feels like. Sponsor logos are done just need to print them. Nitrous tanks are installed and plumbed, just not to the engine. Heres some pics for you guys that are still watching.

Also a shot of the completed roll cage

Passenger side of dash display awaiting screen decal

And thanks to Hiroboy's window masks the new windows are done as well

And trying to get a flat hood out of this kit is a PITA.....

The hood is smooth but looks wavy. Hopefully it doesn't look that way when I paint the body color. Thanks for keeping with me.

Re: 2 Fast 2 Furious... Part 2

Thanks for the comments. Submitted my order from shapeways for my Frosted Ultra Detail rims... 41$.... but i guess for a 1 off set its worth it. I kind of hit a wall though as I want to put belts in but i don't know who to order from or to just use Tamiya 1/16 tape instead... does anyone have any advice? Ive never used belt detail kits. And I did search the forum and read the reviews. Thank you for any input on this subject.

Re: 2 Fast 2 Furious... Part 2

I think the Tamiya tape looks pretty good but 2mm silk ribbon looks more realistic. I picked up some "YLI Pure Silk Ribbon White" online for around $6 bucks. And you can make it any color you want with a Sharpe.

Re: 2 Fast 2 Furious... Part 2

new rims in 4 days. was working on dry fitment today only to find out the window doesn't fit right. when the interior run is in place, the back window sags out of place creating a gap. anyone else have this issue?
