Re: Official Chicago Bears thread
I put more of that win on Feely's willingness to take a hit than Andy Reid coaching him up. I most definitely did expect a blowout (evident by the $20 hole in my pocket) but Feely justwasn't having it. Although I do have to credit Reid for exploiting the weakness of the Pats D in the middle of the field. Belichek is a smart guy but I don't know why he couldn't figure out to adjust his defensive scheme to shut down a very average Philly passing attack. IMO he put way too much effort in trying to fight through the Eagles O Line and failing when he should have dropped Bruschi back to take up space between the hashes. I know Bruschi isn't exactly a coverage MLB but they gave easy yards to the Eagles all game. Add to that the pass-only offense they put out in the firs half with a sprinkle of run in the second. It seems to me Belichek was determined to cover the 22 point spread that Vegas set out for them. If they had at least threatened to gain on the ground, it would be harder to shut down Moss with a corner and safety. Moss is WAY taller than both Lito Shepard and Sheldon Brown so if they could just bait the Eagles with play action and pull the safety off a few steps, it would be an easy jump ball for Moss.
But I guess there's a reason Belichek is a millionaire and I'm posting on AF

Re: Official Chicago Bears thread
*sigh* so close yet so far
I'm not sure if I'm happy or mad that Rex is playing well in this stretch. The team is pretty much out of the playoff race, but Rex is giving us that glimmer of hope that he could still be something good. But if Jerry Angelo doesn't at least bring in somebody to compete with Rex for the job next season, then he's a fool. At this point. there's a part of me that wants the Bears to lose out so we can move up the draft lader... but the fan in me still wants them to fight it out til the bitter end.

Re: Official Chicago Bears thread
Bob Sanders would definitely help the leaky run defense and Peanut is great in pass coverage. Michael Turner would be a good pickup to keep Benson motivated and give us a good change-of-pace-back at the same time. I don't think Cleveland is going to let Anderson go very easily. Sure they got Quinn but what has he done besides make a goofy Subway commercial? Plus Anderson does us no good if there are no WRs that will get open and hold on to a ball. I do think Rex should stay though as a backup if nothing else. Its not like the league is rich with quality QBs right now.
Lots of pieces to fix with this team, but Sanders and Turner would be a good start.

Re: Official Chicago Bears thread
Tough loss Accord. Well the Packers will be suiting up to play the Bears in Chicago next week. If you guys take down the Packers agian this guy will be most unpleased.

Re: Official Chicago Bears thread
On one hand I want the Bears to beat the Packers... cause they're the Packers. But on the other hand, I want them as far up that draft board as possible. I wonder what we could get if Hester is put out for trade bait? I want 6 quality players, no less
