Re: In Progress vs Completed

good, but I'm still not a fan of the hotrod section. THose hotrods are street legal cars yes? So W.I.P. motorbikes, W.I.P. streetlegal and W.I.P.racecars... that should be ideal.

Re: Combined Completed/Gallery Subforum

I'm with Klutz_100- the Completed/In Progress split could be really cool. But as for the others, I would really just like to know why. The "if it's not broken don't fix it" argument seems like a good one- but it got fixed anyway. And no one really seems to be coming forth and explaning why....

Cause the admins were bored?
I think we will find the extra subdivisions marginalize the bikes and rods as most of us won't even go to them

I totally agree with that! I donīt see the need for seperating bikes and muscle cars, too.

Instead of this i would like to remind of an other Section which should be added: a kit Reviews section. There already was a thread about this and many board members seam to like this idea, according to the poll.

Re: Combined Completed/Gallery Subforum

This is going to take some time to get used to. I just hope it isn't all cluttered like the ScaleAutomag forums I've seen multiple threads of the same model, in different sections b/c some people just can't figure out where they should go.
And like hiro said
Quote:
I don't like it.

- - - - Car Modeling
- - - - - - WIP
- - - - - - Completed/Gallery
Why not have a whole seperation of marques next in the sub-subforums.
like...German cars-Italian cars-Japanese cars-American cars-Japanese cars made in US-German cars made in Mexico-US cars made in Japan(maybe?)
Sounds crazy right? How about for a sub-sub-subforum...we have location of builder, then car marque? How deep can this go? Which stores each models were brought from? AMT, Revell, Revellogram, PL, Aoshima, Tamiya, Fujimi seperate threads? How deep can we go?

I too miss the old AF

P.S. I think Ray and I could get a special Suby subforum also? Then have that broken down into rally cars. Then even more, into the years, drivers, liveries.

Re: Combined Completed/Gallery Subforum

Commercial would be street I guess....unless it's an offroad not intended for street use, that would make it a motorsports build....or what? Hmmm....just put it on a street legal trailer, towed by a street legal truck and it's strictly street or just 2/3 street????? (just kidding)

Come on guys...anything streetlegal should be in the street section. Any other builds should be considered individually...it's not that hard - you have experience because it has been like that ever since I began following AF.

Cheers SEB

Re: Combined Completed/Gallery Subforum

I like the motorsports sub-forum, as that is pretty self-explanatory, but the rest of it is kind of a mush together. Part of what makes a certain magazine's forum suck (And it's not the people there, Frank....) is that there are over a dozen different sections. There's muscle cars, hot rods, tuners, racing, trucks, bikes, dioramas, classified, etc. It's all just too much. Plus the forum itself looks hideous and the software doesn't work well.....

Re: Combined Completed/Gallery Subforum

Ok this is just getting silly. I liked street/ motorsport division but now its getting out of hand. I want to see Complete Motorsports in the Motorsport section. That why you title it complete. I give up. yet another perfectly fine board completely screwed up.

Re: Combined Completed/Gallery Subforum

This has gotten totally out of control. I think I was one of the first to answer Rally Raiders original thread and as I stated then THE ONLY REASON I RARELY GO TO THE STREET FORUM WAS IT TOOK ME PERSONALLY!!! too long to go through and find the models of my personal interest which happened to be Muscle cars and hotrods. The reason I don't have the time to spend searching is purely work related which has unfortunately taken over my life at the moment stopping me from actually building. I have to sneak a look now and then while at work like now. Leaving everything as it ORIGINALLY was before this discussion started BUT simply adding the combined, Finished /Completed Forum would solve the problems for everyone. People like me could log in when we get a chance and go straight to the Finished section to see what we have missed out on and then if a particular model caught your eye then go to the appropriate In Progress forum/Thread and read about it. Skylines (example only - not an attack) are not my personal favourite but I have models of them and I will always follow a thread by Hiroboy etc when they build one as I know I will always pick up some new idea or tip I can use on one of my models (When I get the Time) This sniping between the forums is just stupid. We are all modellers and unfortunately some of us don't don't appreciate the wealth of information available here on AF. Unfortunately some dont have as much patience as others to find what they want. Me - I sometimes have to log on 3 or 4 times and carry on browsing from where I last was to find that particular model that catches my eye BUT I don't give up. It just depends on how much time I have at the instant I log on as to whether I continue looking or flick over to Scale Auto to narrow down the search time for a particular model in a particular category.
I hope this bickering all ends soon and we can all learn to live with each others likes and dislikes.
Cheers
Tony

Re: Combined Completed/Gallery Subforum

I'm with voyageuer, still. WIP Motorsport, WIP Street, Completed. But, I'm a big boy, and I can deal with all these little subforums. It will give me places to look that I don't normally look when work is slow, I've got some time to kill, and I've run out of internet. I come here strictly because of the people here, the builders here, and the amazing builds here. The models and the talent here far outstrip any other forum I've been to (sorry to anyone who has a personal interest vested in other forums) because of the wide diversity of builders here. This place is just amazing, and will remain that way no matter how many sub forums we have. As long as the subdivisions don't run anyone off - but I imagine the hardcore builders will stick around.

Oh, no it's 100% joke, loud and clear. People in the States know that for sure.

It's a stock phrase in the TV show called The Apprentice, hosted by Donald Trump. It's a reality game show that takes place in pseudo-reality environment, and pretty much every contestant gets crewed out by the host in one way or another. It's not meant to attack one particular person.

My honest feeling is that regardless of Phil's rationalization, what he says and what he does give me the impression that he's clueless about what's going on, so "if" he were on the show, Trump would have crewed him out, and that was my sarcasm. But I'm no freakray, so I'd better restrain myself.

Phil, honestly I didn't mean to insult you. I was just poking fun, that's all.

I was writing a lengthy explanation of why sub-division doesn't benefit the forum as a whole, but after seen 5 sub forums...I gave up because further discussion is pointless. It's sad that the forum has become a personal playground of certain individuals, but at this point I should just accept what's available. It's not that the forum is gone, or someone's thread got axed for no reason, so I can move on. I believe that's more mature way of dealing with the problem. I'll just wait for the next moderator to take charge, and hope things won't be this bad.

Clueless as I am, I can't help but remind people that this is AF, not the Anti-ScaleAuto forum.
