Re: WIP:73 Dodge Challenger

what paint are you going to use for the body? If your using testors enamel you must make sure your surface is very smooth and that you spray your coats lightly because the testors spray cans spray very thickly, and if im not mistaked you cant polish testors enamel

Re: WIP:73 Dodge Challenger

Your interior detail is impressive, the gauges look great. And yes, whatever strips paint will strip the chrome too

You can either paint it black if you want, or get some Baremetal Foil and just re-chrome it.

Tamiya acrylic, you'd know if you read earlier posts...

I was only gonna paint in between the bars
black, and the grill argent silver. Where can
I get baremetal foil?

See my reply on my Dodge Challenger Thread, you should be able to get it at any decent model shop and I'm sure that it is also possible to order via the web.

Try doing a search for bare metal foil.

Details look good.

Re: WIP:73 Dodge Challenger

great progress so far! I'm really impressed!
about ARII, ARII is well known for their high quality N-gauge trains. most of scale car tools are carryover from the company, LS. ARII is reissuing old tool car model kits.
I live close to the main office of the company. the same city as ARII
good luck!

Where are these shown? If they are on Ilovecaprice's home page it wasn't working when I tried it.

Re: WIP:73 Dodge Challenger

oops, sorry, my first time with fotki, how do u post the actual pics from fotki?
I'd use AF, but something is messed up, it keeps saying my pics are too big, but they're the same size as the old ones that are already on there

This is an ARII kit, they're not well known.
I think somebody did one forever ago, on AF, it was silver.
If this is the Challenger that you mean, then I'm guilty as charged

Still haven't completed though (still lacking of interior) and it has been two years with no progress at all...

Re: WIP: 73 Dodge Challenger

Mkay, here's more pics...

I have done 2 more coats since, and corrected the problems.

I dunno why this is sideways

The door flipped on top of the hood while drying, and
peeled some paint. Like I said, it's been since fixed.

Re: WIP: 73 Dodge Challenger

ahhhh, see, much better!

Fair bit of orange peel tho. I'd strongly suggest a good thorough wet sand with maybe an 1800-2000 grit (maybe even heavier) let it dry, then give it another pass. I think it's a bit too much for polish to fix.

Are you painting in an area of high humidity or heat? Might be the problem...

Definitely good progress though!

Re: WIP: 73 Dodge Challenger

Thanks for the suggestions, i'll try that.

It's humid on and off here in CT, the reason it's
like that is that the primer is testors spray can,
from before i got my airbrush, and the rest is
airbrushed tamiya acrylic. I was gouing to sand,
but didn't know what grit to use and whether to
do it wet or not, so big thanks, John.
