Re: Are you a crazy driver?

^ true

however, you have to understand about the expedition... when you are changing lanes into the slow lane, you aren't looking back 300 feet for someone doing 100mph off the on ramp. You have to approach that situation with proper planning. Examine the lane situations before you get there because IF, just IF somebody does happen to pull in front going 40 MPH slower than you.... you already know where you can go. When you're doing 100 in a 40 mph on ramp, its your responsibility to drive around people in your way. They wont all see you coming, I swear.

Until you change lanes while obeying the speed limit, only to see somebody in your rearview approaching at 100 mph... you'll keep blaming that driver of the expedition. It's happened to me. When someone is behind you going that fast, you don't know what to do. Because you don't know what that crazy fucker is about to do.

I'll admit too that I've done some dangerous shit. Like weaving through traffic at 130 mph. That shit is dangerous. And irresponsible, inconsiderate, rude, stupid.... But god DAMN thats a rush. Its a rush I'm glad I lived through. BUt this was in my younger days. like.... a few months ago. But a random flat tire, and a ditch later, you realize that shit happens. And even at speeds of 40 mph, you arent always in control.

I drive fast but I try not to drive too agressive or inconsiderate. I spent two years in Germany and it has made a much better driver out me. It has also clued me in to the fact that americans can't drive to save their lives. I drive my K2500 Suburban like its a K2500 Suburban. It's not a sports car, but it's bigger than you (unless you're in a H2 or Excursion) so people generally stay out of way.

And nobody brake checks a full size truck with a brush guard on the front.

I think I'm a fairly sedate driver. I never get road rage and never had any directed at me. I do weave through traffic quite a bit and go significantly faster than the flow (anywhere between 40-80 km/h faster if the conditions allow) but most passengers are usually comfortable with my driving.

I'm guilty of having tried to get that Average Speed reading on the trip computer as high as possible on a few open road trips though

Re: Are you a crazy driver?

well after 3 speeding tickets i've learned not to be crazy driver, still go 10-30mph over but no more lane changing and weaving, thats what gets you noticed. I've also gotten to notice what the Crown Victoria headlights look like from my rear-view (lincoln t/c looks same). not used to the durango's, F-150's, Intrepids,or Cherokee though.
