Re: Nightly smoke session...

i went there and i thought they would be races and stuff but i thought wrong. the only action that was going one was a few mustang owners were doing doughnuts and trying to get a race from a vette.

Thats real street racing? Like the old days?. I'm lost have you never heard or seen how they dragged in the old days?. Unless your taking about a couple of months ago as the old days. No one use to street race like that. 2 cars would line up. A person would stand in the center and drop a whote flag or there hands and they would take off from the line. There were no do over's from a roll. Who ever won from the line, Won thats all but I think you could have taken the Vette from the line anyway..

Re: Nightly smoke session...

pretty much, but they did it during the day too. Now that was racing. Not this racing from going 30 or 60 MPH already. Were is the skill in that?. You already have traction thats just mashing the gas pedal.

that is true, but if you think about it, then that's the perfect way to see which car has it better... not that i perfer it... but i mean if you don't want skill to be involved, just to see which car is better, then a roll could be nice...

Cars accelerate more freely and faster from a idle than a preset RPM. Your gearing at that speed gives you more of a advantage than power(for the most part) from a roll.
