Well, we all know that intellegent, fact based opinions of a vehicle can be formed from seeing a 15sec clip on the internet.

Let's be realisitic here the H2 was designed by GM and Hummer to be an exceptional off-roading vehicle in order to live up to the Hummer name. The approach and departure angles show this, along with the suspension, wheel/tire combo, and amount ground clearance. Any vehicle can easily break tie-rods in that manner, that's what happens when you have the force of a two-ton vehicle coming down on one spot that wasn't designed to support a direct impact with that amount of weight and force.

Yes, the departure and approach angles are pretty good, too bad the long wheelbase means the breakover angle is useless and cancels out the H2's good departure and approach angles.

The H2 suv's breakover angle is 25 degrees, much better than the Jeep Grand Cherokee's 20.6 degrees.

Re: What is the worst modern car?

For me the Escalade would do it! As you all know it is SUPPOSEDLY a luxurious SUV: Well, is it good off-road? NO! Is it luxurious?NO! I wouldn't call a car luxurious when the interior materials are mainly made of "extremely cheap" black plastic. Am I bashing plastic? NO! There are different quality plastics on the market and if you look at the plastic used by Audi, VW, or BMW; you will get to see that the plastic they use is a lot higher quality than that of an Escalade!

Re: What is the worst modern car?

Or you know, the Fact that All Hummers use bullshit independant suspension with is not very useful in "deep" off-roading. Let alone that they are, if I recall correctly, based off of the Corporate 10 bolt axle, which has never been known as "big shit" in the axle world.
Then let's weaken the design with SEVERAL joints, which are the defacto-weak-point in most drivelines.
Yeah, Peachy off roader...
Or the fact that these axles are trying support a 2 ton ugly ass BRICK.
Sorry, but maybe, 2 Tons doesn't work very well off-road. Many people are going for lighter weight rigs for hardcore rockcrawling, mud running, and general trail use as there is less stress on parts, and thus: Less breakage.
Oh, and lets not forget that straight-live axles are still the strongest axles avaliable.
Screw the Hummer and all of it's derivitives. Piece of Shit, let it die.
