there could be many reasons but for one not all supra's were turboed and his may not be. the only real way is to see for one if he has gauges or 2 under the hood because its easy to say he doesnt have one and still could you never know. but if he had a twin turbo supra and talked all that crap he would def. race so i bet he doesnt have one. but he doesnt necessarly have to have a BOV it could be internal wastegate. my cousins twin turbo RX7 sounds nothing of a turbo but they are there. you would never know he has a turbo unless you actually looked. he has a black front mount and a mad quiet (pretty much silent) BOV and everything is sleeper so if he's smart he did the same. but as far as your engine on your car theres things you can do to the cavy but it takes money you could get around 400hp out of your car but ecotec's are kind of crapy. 2.4's were the best. but no matter what man i dont think you could run it with a twin turbo supra if it is. buy another car if you wanna beat him that bad but theres not much to compete wit a Twin turbo supra those cars are so easy to get power out of. good luck and as much as i love cavy's i even know theres no chance. ill let you borrow my 2004 cobra lol maybe you could run it with him. (521.7whp baby)

BOV's or dump valve are completely different to Wastegates! The wastegate on a stock car will maintain a maximum level of boost and this is what you connect a boost controller to which fools the wastegate into thinking it's running less boost! All Turbbos have Waste gates but not all have BOVs. A BOV just releases the pressure build up from when you close the throttle as there will still be compressed air in the tubing and upon reopening the throttle this will rush in with the fuel not being able to catch and it will lean out and ultimately can cause detonation and so the motor could receive some serious damage. A lot of stock Turbo cars don't have a BOV but they do have a valve that does the same job, these are called recirculating valves, some BOV recirculate but not all. It basically puts the air back into the intake before the turbo. This usually allows the intake to lessen the lag if the thottle is opened wide staight after a shift as there will be more air before the turbo to be compressed other than it just sucking it in! You can always hear a turbo but to the untrained ear it wouldn't sound like it!
You are right though that a stock Supra Motor can take a lot of boost and mash most other cars! Although in the Fast and the Fuirous they got that Supra and it had a 2jz. Jesse: "2JZ engine no shit!!" This is a toyota 2.0l motor and is a very good one but you couldn't push it above 400hp unlike the stock 3.0 I-6 the supra would of had, that could push in excess of 1000hp!

Re: engine change

That 3.8L supercharged does not run 9's, it may have come close when he had the bottles full but no it doesn't run 9's. Thats James cavi and he has never laid claim to it running 9's that i'm aware of. This is a good customer of ours and he had the same swap done at double Z automotive in halifax. http://www.creativeautosports.com/ga...allery_lee.htm This one is faster than the first one cuz he has a few more performance mods if you exclude N2O. And in the quarter mile it doesn't even think about touchin nines. Plus both lee and james have plans to lose the supers and put on twin turbos which will be quite a bit more impressive. But nonetheless it also has its drawbacks. Personally i feel with the amount of money in those cars could of been just as well spent on an 2.2 ecotec

^yeah i know but i still trust these guys' word too im not sure i still got just around 11 months to make money and plan it out so yeah the input is well more then appreciated

Cars have been my life, my whole life. Anything that IMPROVES a car is a good thing. Most cars a re compromised to suit as many people as possible so it's always good to taylor one to the specific wants and needs of an individual. I enjoy looking at good work. I'm no Guru, I can just appreciate some good work when I see it!

Re: engine change

I've herad that SCN isn't comin this year do to piss poor turnout last year, but it will be in moncton. Ppl out here are too cheap anyway, you'll see that when you get heavy into the scene, Ppl are too cheap to spend money on good quality equipment for their vehicles so the whole Sport compact industry suffers in Nova Scotia. U'll see what i mean if u get into it heavy.

Sh*t you gotta go to Moncton to catch a show! Around central ON we get all kinds of shows some even on the same weekend. Darknights should be good! The J-body Bash I'm also looking forward to!
