you dont need much on any car to beat a stock 5.0 Come On, you all know that. (not saying 5.0 are not fast) and please me something, why would anyone sink 60,000 dollars in a 2.2 s-10. i dont care, 15,000 is retarted to. BlazerLT, i argee with everything you say. Tricked out 4banger s-10, LMAO. sink a 350 in it, or if you have that 60,000, put a big block in it(not to many). anyways, a v6 4.3 is the best motor i know of. compare toyotas vs. chevy 4.3 your see. my brother has a 1990 chevy fullsize pick up with the 4.3. it has over 220,000 on it and run strong. i want to get a v6 s10. my 2.2 is to much of a dog for what i need it for, GET A V6!!!! with the reason you need it for, you'll be sorry you got a 4cly.

All i can say is i own a number of different s trucks over time, the 4.3 has the most power and is the most capable, have a 93, the 2.5 will run forever so it seems, have and 88 with 250,000 miles and running strong, the 2.8 is junk from experience, had an 84, blew it up, replaced with an 86 2.8, it is weak but good on gas. I would never own a 2.2, they are junk and weak, but to each his own, it is good on gas but sucks on power. Look it sounds like people don't know much about anything, yes you can build a 2.2l to beat a 5.0 stock stang, but is it worth it, yes you can tune any engine but is it worth it to dump a lot of money into a truck to do that? For a practical truck that looks good and is very capable go with a newer s10 with a 4.3 liter and 4wd if thats what you want, sounds like it, then buy the lift yourself, a 4/3 lift will only cost $300 depending on brands for spindles springs and blocks and have fun. It seems like everyone looses sight of what you're looking for, i mean DUDE!!!! cool a turboDUDE!!!!Ha get 1,000 hp out of a 2.2 litre for 80 grand and beat a 5.0 stang, come one yep it can be done but that's not what this guy is asking, and oh just a thought, you can't talk about something without experiance like everyone seems to know, sorry i really don't mean to bitch here but i got a little heated since lately everyone seems to know everything about everything but obviously doesn't, LoL.
