Rock on man! We're gonna have the sickest sleds around , were pioneering the way!
One question, is it laying frame? Or just tucking slightly...?

Re: Contest Entry [DubCity S10 Convertible]

Frame is on the ground.

I think Ive decided to mold the skirts and rear ground effect to the body, and add some dimension to the front lip.

Re: Contest Entry [DubCity S10 Convertible]

I'm still not a fan of the convertible, nor the lip. The lip looks out of place if you will. Like it was just put there.

The homage idea sounds kind of cool. Ever look at a 49 Merc? You know how the front of the fenders slope to the front of the back fender? That would be really cool to do if you were to cover the rear wheel. I'll make out a chop or sketch.

A skirt is what I would be doing, I just didnt feel like chopping one to look realistic. Good call on the Merc thing, chop me something so I can get a visual of what your thinking!

Re: Re: Re: Contest Entry [DubCity S10 Convertible]

Many of you mentioned that the front skirt was ugly, and looked like an afterthought. Well, I tried to remedy that:

BEFORE

I think it looks way better...

Im also shaving the tailights. I want to replace them with something round!

You need to incorporate the skirts and front bumper addition into the body. Put on some putty and smooth it out. Also some fog lights might make it more interesting. That and/or an intake.

I don't think the spoiler was taking from the front, it was fine, but now that it's done, it gives a sorta GT race look, like there's some ground effects package under there.

But this is what I see. WTH are these things?? Tow hooks?

This area could be filled and like Gafoto said put some fog lights in it.. or...

Cut it out, have the sides of the opening follow the lines of the spoiler cut. You could still incorporate fog lights, air intake etc in there.

Look'n good

Re: Contest Entry [DubCity S10 Convertible]

How about a flat piece of black plastic flat on the bottom? It would make a line on the bottom and make that big hole on the bottom into an intake. Just cut it to follor the line of the bumper.

Ya, those are tow hooks, I was just too lazy to tape them off when I primered. But cutting out that air damn is a really good idea, and I love how it looks.

Re: Re: Contest Entry [DubCity S10 Convertible]

I worked up this concept real quick. I think you can tell I did it real quick :P. Put a vertical part in the center and connect the bottom two. Then where the bars cross in the middle put a chevy bowtie. Mine looks pretty freaky but you get the idea.
