what defines a RICER??

The difference between a ricer and a tuner is the ricer wants to make his car look, sound, and feel fast when what he is doing does not make it actually go fast. The tuner will like looks but will not want to simply look fast, he wants the go-fast features above all else. That is how we can find known preformance cars riced out, because some people try to look fast with the stickers and rims and spoilers and sound "fast" with fart cans. Never be ashamed of doing prefprmance/power modifications to your car, but do be ashamed of cheep Christmass lights! :looser:

I'm not saying everyone who drives an asian car is a ricer. I'm just saying that the people who put all that wanna-be racer shit from autozone on thier cars are posers. Those are the car people that I don't have a lot of respect for. I believe any vehicle that goes fast or has a lot of work in it deserves respect no matter what the make. And I will say that a 13 or even a 14 second civic deserves respect.

Basically, a ricer is someone who pays more attention to form over function. The parts a ricer installs on his/her car do not increase the horsepower whatsoever and sometimes even hinder it. A ricer is also someone who advertises that he has parts that he clearly doesn't have, like the previously mentionned Nismo stickers on a Neon example. Riced-up cars ironically turnout to be slower and uglier than stock cars.

well i wanted to put up my story
its this one RICED out stealth, in my city, OK well here it is this guy has a red dodge stealth i forget the year with this silver racing strip down the middle like that of the vipers [the two bar strip that goes down the middle of the car], its an automatic, only has an intake and exhuast [and yes one of thse autozone megaphone coffe cans], blue neon lights inside and out, a wing that makes it look like he could drive off a cliff and float safely back to earth, chrome looking rims, and subs w/ case that probly weigh more than me.

i mean my friend took him in 4th, the stealth was flooring his car i could hear the engine stressing out, i also got a glimsp of his car trembling and weaving b/c the wing LoL

I hate to see riced out cars like that. Stealths, Zs, 3ks, MKs, RXs, 240s all the real cars. You expect to see civics and shit riced. It actually hurts you when someone treats them like that.

Next mod: Aluminum beach chair drivers seat and astroturf carpets. Neon exhaust tips are as bad as anything, and by the way - so is the word "ricer". Funny thread, but if I were Asian I might seriously consider if that use of words is funny. Look - if you can take the part off the car and you don't lose any speed, etc... or if no one even notices your car in the first place without some tacky Auto Zone BS on it or inside, then you are an official punkass and need to report to a friendly garage that will let you get dirty in anyway possible and learn about cars and what makes them work well. Inside every poser there's a genuine speed freak just waitin' to be hatched. The mass application of the word "tuner" is worthy of a bitch-slap most times too.

The best deffinition of a ricer is Honda CRX with a huge crap exhaust, a wing that stands a foot high, a bright yellow shitty paint job, and a fire exstinguisher hanging in the front like he races. Then he pulls up next to me in my civic and revs up. I dust his doors and slow down. He then pulls up next to me again and revs up again. That is a ricer. My civic looks like shit but it has an LS/Vtec with a couple mods. 14.1 best on stock steelies. 14.3's consistantly. Sleeper 4-door with altezza lights and a gay oval exhaust tip, but it's quick.

to me, there seems to be a constant opinion here, and on links people have posted, and its this:

a "ricer" is somebody who adds parts to their car which do not increase power/performance or are absolutely pointless. stickers, badges and paint jobs may also qualify a car as a "ricer's ride", ie "type-R" badges on a stock accord. most of the time these parts are simply accessories but other times, they have potential to create power and/or increase performance, for example 1) exhaust (or fart can), 2) wing.
1) $49 fart cans on 94 neons won't increase the hp but will make them louder, simulating an exhaust. the principal is there but you've got the wrong hardware big guy
2) wing because there are cars out there that have functional spoilers, like F1 cars, but unfortunately, your 92 civic doesn't go 220mph so the spoiler doesn't change anything but the looks. the principal is there but you've got the wrong hardware big guy.

there are also cars that some people consider ricers but others don't. there will always be arguments b/w people about this. acesnyper says his rims are worth more than his car. well, almost any S13 chassis (sometimes even S14) 240 with a N/A KA will probably not be worth as much as a set of decent rims, so that argument is not very reasonable. this is going nowhere but in a circle.

a riced up car is basically anything but fast.

Why is it in any post I go to lately, there is some argument over some topic, to put paspective into place, all y'alls' posts are our defination of Ricers, but in actual sense the term: RICER (s) was first used by your own flesh and blood on thier own flesh and blood.
Basically your daddys with the big block Elcaminos/Z28s/Stangs (cars that when you tapped the gas, the frame vibrated so hard that your mommy got an instant orgasm, haven't y'all realised the Baby boom era went hand in hand with the Big Block era???? F*** the small displacement/emission era, I could be getting laid like a MotherF**** with my T-RAm, with a big block, sheet metal that transmits all engine and road vibration, it would be a 3800lb Vibrator ) called all the little discplacement auto owning drivers, Ricers.As the trend got a big following, then came the split of the Domestic crowd (cheap HP) and the import (Ricers) crowds, and then the none decided idiots who couldn't choose and stayed in between.
So wether you CRX or 240 has 600hp, your dady still refers you as a Ricers to his friends when you aren't around.
Now we came up with our version of Ricers mainlys as the MOFOs who want to LOO fast instead of also having the ability to go fast.
