i disagree to an extent....most are overrated, the civic for example is very overrated, but the new RSX type S (brand new not 2003) are very respectable in the means of acceleration and horsepower, granted, they dont' have nearly the torque to match any eclipse in a pulling contest, but they are respectable... as for econobox....damnit thats why they invented vtec...for eco-sensitive people

I'm wondering too, Mr. Tibby seems to have fallen off the face of the earth.

Re: V6 mustung V.S. V6 eclipse who would win

Well, I'm an eclipse owner (2G-GSX) but I have to say, the V6 6speed tib is actually a good match for the GT-GTS. From what I've seen at the street races, Tibs vs GT-GTS is a drivers race. My girl beat a 2004 GTS 3 times in a row becuase he "knew" his car was suppose to be faster and wanted to keep trying. BTW they were both bone stock (she has a V6 6speed). I have the feeling that everyone here is going by the hp/torque rating and thinking that just because the Mitsu has more hp and torque, that its a clear win, when that's definatly not the case. Hell, both cars land around mid to low 15's. Also, she's beaten RSX-S's all the time when those are rated to be faster than both the GTS and the Tib. Those cars are all clearly drivers races and depending on the skill of the driver, could go either way.

Re: V6 mustung V.S. V6 eclipse who would win

i never look at the rated horsepower and torque when comparing cars. they mean nothing.

That was a while ago, They even used the 4g63's in some cars (non turbo version).

Re: V6 mustung V.S. V6 eclipse who would win

i saw a 4g63 N/T one time...i kept thinking how it was a shame the intake ran straight to the throttle body and there wasn't hardly any piping....
then again i'm used to seeing all kinds of eclipse turbos :-P

yeah, it's like a sin not running boost in an engine with so much potential.

i agree wid yea. now how do u define a race, not on the drag, like on the freeway.

i was doing around 105-115 mph on my eclipse 03 GT. and an audi TT was next to me doing about the same speed. im sure if he was really racing (flooring it) id get smoked. but then again wen we got on to a straight away still doing around 110 (both of us) i start to pull away, i can c him slowly move back in my mirror i love my eclipse its jst hard to go against my friends 2004 1.8T GTI, i was planning on getting that car, but the dealership wouldnt go down to the price i was asking. anyway i still love my eclipse
