Well GM said 245 but GM seems to have some unwritten rule that nothing shall sound faster than a vette. The vettes of that year was rated higher but could not hold a candle to the GN. I have seen completly stock (not even a chip) lowmileage GN's dyno out 290 HP. They would run usually a 13.8-14.0 qtr mile. The GNX is crazy, now I know this is a freak story but their was a magazine that squeezed every thing that they could out of a GNX. It was like a like a 27 degree day ( great for the turbo and intercooler) They also torched the track to make it warm for the tires. they got a high 11 sec pass out of it. with just slicks.

I realize my car is not a corner car and I could argue that I could set it up to handle but, in reality, how many road course tracks are there compared to dragstrips? If I hade a corner car, where could I realisticy and legaly use it? Merging on to the interstate? After you have a 11 sec car, corners are obsolete.

From what I hear they still underrate many of the Camaros and Mustangs today. The SS, I've heard has anywhere from 325-340 horses.I know if I'm wrong I'll be corrected. The Mach 1 says it has 305 horses. But they say it's very underrated.
