vtec1600, how does your muffler 'bevalt' (can't get the english word, getting old I think). I'm thinking of buying the same brand as yours, but I don't want a 2 loud sound. Is it making much sound? What I heard is that a 'sport' muffler begin's making it's real sound after about 1000 km, then the resonator foam should be burned out (to get it legal ). I regularly drive with 4000 rpm on the highway and don't want to get irritated by the sound.
Have you already removed the silincer tip?
Thanks in advance, I hope your feedback can help me.

After 1000 km? The Remus muffler which I used to have on my old 5th gen Civic hatch (1.5l with 90hp and automatic!!! ) needed a lot more km to burn out the resonator foam! And after that it became hella loud!!! Much louder than the Sebring exhaust I had on my first Lude (and both had exactly the same design).

I removed the silencer this weekend to clean it, and it makes a loud sound when removed. With the silencer in, the sound really stays down. Only when you really push it, it gets loud. On the highway, your engine (in my case) is making more noise than the exhaust so no difference there. I think if you would measure the dB it would be the same as a standard one. Only it's the sound is lower, it gives a deep tone. Not like those Golfs.
The sound stays the same during the complete life, so the sound in the beginning will not change a bit. Because it's a different system than remus or sebring.

That seems 2 be a nice exhaust then, I think it will give more sound when you accelerate fast??? That's a thing i like, but not all day long. Thanks for your comment.

Veetec, very strange about that remus. A friend of mine had a sebring on a golf vr6, that was a real nice sound, when accelerating fast and then shifting (engine going to lower revs) it gave a 'bang', super! He later on put a sebring on a bmw 320, but that one wasn't nice at all, no nice sound, more a cheap loud sound.

Both (Sebring and Remus) sounded very nice on my cars. But when I was sitting in my old Lude I couldnīt hear the Sebring exhaust very much because my air-intake was much louder! Thatīs what I really like about intakes: they are quiet in lower rpms but when youīre accelerating into higher rpms they start to become really loud (in a nice way IMO)!

It only gives a louder sound when you push your pedal all the way down, that's why my first gas stop after i put the exhaust on was a lot earlier than before I just wanted to hear that sound time after time, so longer riding on high rpm resulted in a much higher fuel consumption, but now it's back to normal. (Or better, almost back to normal )

prices and stuff

Stop whining Y'all! Come to Norway and check out our prices! It seems as though the goverment tries to make us stop buying stuff for our cars! It's pretty wild..But they can't stop me! My Civic is going to be the bomb!

PS. I just bought myself a Supersprint muffler. Don't know the price in Euros, but it was about 300$..Looks nice as hell though!! Any experiences with Supersprint anyone?

just what I want!

First of all: Thanks for the warm welcome!
civic_1.6_16v: (damn, long nick I'll post some pictures as soon as I get some. I've just had it for a little while, so I haven't got around to buying rims and tyres yet. Hopefully I'll be able to afford it this spring. Supersprint muffler is going on thursday and H&R 35mm lovering spring is soon to be ordered. I'll let you know!
brace: That's just what I want. My girlfriend is studying 500km away, so it's essential for my head that it's not to loud on those trips. Love some noise during acceleration though! When Vtec kicks in..I wish.. Hopefully later

Welcome to AF, riceviking! Finally we got a member from the north, too! Most members of the europe forum seem to live very close to each other (germany, belgium, netherlands) and there are also some `island europeansī (U.K. ) but there arenīt any members who are living in the north and south of europe anymore (except of you now )!! IMO it would be nice if we would have got some members from spain, france,..., too!
