Re: Ferrari 458 GT3 1/24

another good news about wheels just arrived.
Seems also scaleauto is making this kinda rims for the upcoming Viper GTS-R, as shown by David at this link:
http://www.scaleauto-slot.com/24-pro...-24-track-test

that as well as the also new upcoming porsche 991 is a GREAT news for me
Usually scaleuto plastic wheel inserts are incredibly well detailed in plastic.

The car now is temporary stopped in wip, until I can get the wheels. Hope soon.

....and another project is already started..stay tuned... LOL

Re: Ferrari 458 GT3 1/24

I would like to do it's first ALMS win. The photos is as it was at Elkhart Lakes Road America when it won it's first ALMS class win last August. I met several fans from New Zealand who came all the way just for this race(ALMS/GRAND AM double header 2013)

Re: Ferrari 458 GT3 1/24

little progress after some committed buildups.Nice stuff. quality models are always too nice to finish...

Italian L6 by model victoria:

and the impressive german U boot type IX c.Ifu like to filter rusty paints and weather effect...this is your model:

and here the gt3.I've started the deal artwork, and it is honestly a very hard job. Think something like the flying lyzard porsches we seen on topics around here.Frank from decaldoc made a very good work with size and dimensions of the car. Really happy the decals fits perfectly to my body, cause it means I was not so mistaken working with milliput and plasticard. Not so easy on such models.
Here we go...this is the first layer of silver bases to be used for the final very colroed schema.Caris black, many decals are white red and pale green. This base is definitely a must working with alps printed decals

Hope u like it

Re: Ferrari 458 GT3 1/24

eheh, mercy mon amis.
I am really trying to do my best, even if is livery is real complex. It's nearly done right now, and will go on all day to finish it. Started the decalwork to relax from the 2 big military works i did before, and end...in a no stop decal session ....cause I am in that mode right now and dont wanna loose the "ispiration"... u know

nearly done. for sure when complete will make some nicer quality pics. those are taken during pauses with mobile...

Re: Ferrari 458 GT3 1/24

was missing in action for some time.In summer we are testing the new olympic nacra 17.Is a very easy to fly toy..just the problem is its attitude to take off. Will be anyway real fun to see in action used by great crew (next olympics, for whom likes this sport).
Carbon fiber allover, new T rudders make it easy to foil. a pure fun.

then back home to sweden (midsommar time here..impossible miss it so back at work over my cars.
The gt3 is going on. The decalizing was quite hard, not for decaldoc but for the shape of the car and the complexity of the colors. Frank made a real good work. All decals are a little oversized on the edges, so was very good to refill theme with a sharp blade when done.
My problem was due to the black base color of the car. All the light colors must be overlayed on a silver base.means all decals are double...and thiss means...double problems every time.
Dunno if studio 27 decal sheet will be so better than this. I am quite satisfied with the result. Just had some silvering over big decals, even if I apply all over a glossy black finish paint (gunze). In some points as the side near cap filler there are more or less 10 layers of decals one over the other....is the price to pay for a so beautiful and unusual lyvery.

another issue was about the wing. I was nearly oing to scratchbuild also that, then I bought a fujimi bmw z4 and found 2 of theme (so model remains complete anyway). the part is really nicely done.Probaably I will cast it in resin cause is always a mess to find theme in the correct shape and all the ones i've seen around made in resin are all always deformed. Once again shame fujimi dont sell this little sprue separartely.... (as well as for their nice wheels..)

Re: Ferrari 458 GT3 1/24

For whom is interested I just noted now the carrera digital is available as complete slotcar on ebay. Price is the usual (quite good one) for carrera cars. I took their breadvan, shape is really welldone and you actually can search it at much lower prices around.

The ferrari 458 gt3 is then available, but consider also I know the new trend of those manifacturer is ALSO to make them as static models and sold under Burago brand. Nothing matters with old glorious Burago die cast company, it is just their old name and logo. actually is the same producer of welly diecast. This time, all new cars to arrive will be PLASTIC body, and the price ridicolous.
I payd the welly porsche 991 (die cast) around 20 euros. with burago box now is listed at 12. I will wait next time then

Also true that from pictures carrera 458gt3 looks really like a toy more than a model. It will be surely a great and easy base to start a project like mine, even if I am lucky cause they didnt made THIS version but the following different one, racing in 2013 and 2014.

My model here is still sleeping in its showcase. It is really good cause the few decal silvering I had before is nearly completely gone now. At today I still miss the rims. Nobody of the fellows claiming to make theme did it at today. No volountee at all by myside to search hardly for the carrera rims only, even if surely available in some ways or from local dealers. Prefer wait a little,no problems.

The rear GT3 wing for this car is arriving to me moulded in resin next week. I will probably sell some little accessories like this one to make life more easy for whom wanna have gt cars in collection, as well as some racing helmets (Jochen u stole my heart with your littel lovely details....even if probably u are not a pretty german girl ) of different era 70s and 90s in 1/24 scale.
