I agree completely Phil! A plain Red Bull blue racecar would look great!!

In this case, I actually like the contrast between the blue stripes and the green colour.

In fact I was thinking to this color precisely, the plain fluo color would look killing to me !
But yes, a plain red bull blue also !!
the car itself already has a great look I think, maybe it helps to appreciate the final look with the livery on.
But talking about yours, the detailing is simply as fascinating as the model or its livery.

Real pure pleasure and enjoyment to follow your builds.

Hola Ramón!

No problem whatsoever with the paint shipping to Mexico! I absolutely recommend ZERO paints and clear coats. They make life easier!

Re: Ferrari F430 GT Krohn Racing

Time for a new update!

I polished the clear coat using Micro Mesh polishing pads. This is not a factory finish, so I wanted to bring down the shine a little. Here´s the body after using the 2400 pad:

I used all the pads, and after using the 12000 pad, I ended up with the finish I wanted. The shine is still great, but more accurate for a competition car of this kind:

The final result is just great. The photos just don´t do justice to the finish in the body:

Next step... painting the window borders and headlight buckets, and after that, time for decals!

Interesting work!

I've never tried a renaissance model, but from what I've seen, if I don't really love the model, I'll never buy one.

Anyway, great work so far. Can I ask you where did you get the polishing pads?

De todas formas habia visto ya este progreso en otra pagina.

Re: Ferrari F430 GT Krohn Racing

Thanks for the nice words!

Vladamor, this is a Studio 27 kit, and it needs a LOT of work to correct all the molding errors.

I bought the pads in the Micro-Mark site, here's the link:

Saludos!

Re: Ferrari F430 GT Krohn Racing

Friends, thanks again for your interest and nice words!

Well, I have reached what I consider one of the most fun parts of the process: Applying the decals!

It´s very important to follow your references of the real car, because the kit instructions have 3 or 4 errors with the graphics that should appear in the #83.

I realized that it would be better to paint the blue section of the body. The Studio 27 kit provide blue decals, but they are rectangles with no shape whatsoever:

After polishing the blue paint, I apply the blue decals. Those are the "base" of the paint scheme:

The Studio 27 decals are thick, but they are easy to apply. In the complicated parts, I cut the decals or I use Micro Sol to help them to conform to the shape of the body.

I apply the rest of the decals. I think the colours and graphics show a nice contrast with the colour of the body:

There are still some decals that I will apply after I glue details like grills and hood pins.

Thanks for watching!!

Re: Ferrari F430 GT Krohn Racing

Looking absolutely great.
The car really comes alive with those decals.

Is it me or is the blue stripe on the section between the hood and front bumper a bit wider than the rest (3rd picture in your last post shows it best).
