Re: david-b's 95 Eagle Talon ESi-T Motor Build

Thanks guys. Amazing how just a small thing like painting the tails makes the car look so much better.

I'm having some mad problems with the car running rich and nothing is fixing it. I've replaced all vacuum lines and checked for leaks; nothing. Changing the settings in MS loading other maps and settings and still nothing is working out.

The tails look great man. Did you clear them or anything?

I also hate the ricey ass gauges....anything backlit by blue just looks too fast and furious to me (no offense to anyone with blue lit gauges). Those new ones look great, really digging the surround also.

Re: david-b's 95 Eagle Talon ESi-T Motor Build

I'm hoping to try to figure out the smokey-ness today. Really hoping for something small. I got the car running much better, not as rich as before. Learned a TON with all the reading I did. But it still smoked yesterday once it got warmed up. I'd be fine with a blown turbo. Don't plan on tearing her down again.

Gauges I found ebay for like $40 I believe. The bezel I've had for years. Was custom made. Always had it with the white gauges though, and was never too happy with it. But with the black faces again... wow. Things looks great at night as well.

Tails looks PERFECT at night. I can still see while backing up (always a plus) and the brakes and reflectors all turn out good. I want a pic from behind on the street, so I'l try to get one of those. But at night while parked, the whole car is blacked out and is so sexy.

Re: david-b's 95 Eagle Talon ESi-T Motor Build

The autos have the lights in the center for what gear it's in. Also redline on the autos are much lower. These are the exact same as my last ones which were exactly the same as my stockers. How do you figure?

Yea the autos only go to 8k. Dave maybe the 95s are different? I would be curious to see if the tach is off any once it gets up in the higher rpms

Re: david-b's 95 Eagle Talon ESi-T Motor Build

Good call on the gauges. The last ones I had only went to 8 as well. Found an old old old pic of my cluster and sure enough it goes to 9. That makes sense now why my rpms were never right. Just thought I never put the needles back on right. Oh well, doesn't matter now anways.

The Talon is officially getting parted out. Did a compression test today and it sucked. So... I'm done. No more tear downs and wasting money. I'm done. If anyone NEEDS ANYTHING, let me know.

I know I know. I just can't do this anymore. Figured out what was wrong with the GA so got the ride situation all figured out. Just done.

Re: david-b's 95 Eagle Talon ESi-T Motor Build

Nope. Next car I get will be something I will no molest. Has to be a DD.

I think my dad put it best. We were talking about it and he says I'm at that age where nearly all car guys (unless rich) put the hobby aside and "grow up." Settle down, get married, get a house, family... stuff like that. He was the same way. Then, later on, once everyone is done with college, you go and buy a muscle car during your mid-life crisis, and get back in the game. So I should be back according to him haha.
