Re: Blackcrow64's Talon TSi AWD Project Progress Thread...

So here's what's up...

Talon is being moved to a shop where shit doesn't get destroyed and my shit doesn't get moved where I can't find it... Motor is being pulled and tore apart again. No clue what is going on here with it... May have to get some machine work done on it if things turn out as bad as I'm thinking it could be...

Re: Blackcrow64's Talon TSi AWD Project Progress Thread...

Think it could have been a faulty oil pump?

My friend selling the GSX in that video I posted has a place he bought recently and he has a nice sized garage with it. We are moving it there to work on it so that it will be closer to me than it is now and so that we can work on it without things getting moved all the time. That is the only problem with it being where it is now.

Oil pump was brand new. Shouldn't have failed already...

Re: Blackcrow64's Talon TSi AWD Project Progress Thread...

I was looking up some info on the 4g63 locking up and I found a thread about a dude who had rebuilt his engine and when he started it.It ran for a few seconds then locked up.Turned out to be his intake cam so check into that.
Every little bit of info helps ya I know how much of a pain in the ass it can be.

It's gotta take a lot of pressure to break a cam. What would cause one to break?

Could be faulty machine work when they built the cam or perhaps something got overtorqued.Either way something would have to bind up to break that cam.But we still do not know if that is the prob.Keep us updated dude and we will help as much as possible.....I miss my dsm

None yet. Work totally owned my life for the last month. I worked so much OT and so many messed up shifts that I had no time to adjust to anything. I'm on a pretty set schedule for the next month or so though. Hopefully I'll get some time to work on it then.

Re: Blackcrow64's Talon TSi AWD Project Progress Thread...

So here is what's up with the car... Talked to my buddy with the garage that I'm supposed to be moving the entire project over to. I've still got pretty much no time to work on it so he is going to be working on it for me to get the motor pulled back out and find out what's going on and I'm just gonna pay him to do it. If not, I'll never get this thing done...

Re: Blackcrow64's Talon TSi AWD Project Progress Thread...

Somebody should just buy this thing from me... I really wish I didn't have so much money invested in it...

So the weather is getting nicer out and once again another summer is upon us. Will the Talon run this summer? Probably not with my luck... I've contemplated just dropping a stock 6 bolt into it now just so I can actually drive it since we have no clue what is up with this motor. Right now a lot is going on between my buddy and I and neither of us has touched this thing in forever.

I've actually been looking for my own house with a garage so I can work on this thing at any hour of the day or night and nobody will get pissed off. I really would like to drive this thing again someday. If not, then maybe I'll just sell it... I donno... DSM's are such a headache...
