Re: Recap of Japanese F1 fleet

Our own F1 Monster relayed his story of a visit to the ZAZ Museum here which is worth a read for those who are curious. His photos were linked to later in the thread, but unfortunately the website they were on is down now.

When I stick 'ZAZ Museum' into Google, this guy's photos are the first result, even before the museum's own website:

Motoyen's ZAZ Museum photos

So, obviously pics aren't totally off limits, but it seems they don't allow just anyone to do so. It would probably help to have some sort of contact with them in advance of your trip. If anyone is serious about heading over there, "I know somebody, who knows somebody" and would be happy to try and make arrangements for better access through my friend (no guarantees).

My ZaZ visit was done with some sort of business intention and just to see as well. The photo is generally not allowed, but as Erik said, its not off limit, it depends on how you to treat them not in the way of just good attitude but enthusiasm on F1.

Re: Recap of Japanese F1 fleet

Two more of #031:

And then a surprise!

Chassis #060 (we believe) still wrapped in plastic - photos from August 2008. It does appear to have moved to a nicer location than the corner of the ELG warehouse where it was last seen. Does anyone else think that is something other than an Enzo under the tarp next to it?

Re: Recap of Japanese F1 fleet

More 'postage stamp' sized photos from Japan.

First a pair of old school shots of #012.

Then a shot from almost exactly one year ago of chassis #029.

Also, our BingoSports friends have a blog, but the only way I have found to navigate month to month is by changing the URL manually.

Re: Recap of Japanese F1 fleet

The whole thread actually needs updating, and I am working to make the time to get that done. You can see by the last edit comment at the bottom of the first post that it has not been touched for a very long time.

In the case of this thread, I might just start a new one, linking back to this one for posterity sake as making the necessary changes to bring it up to date will essentially mean re-writing the first post. They were a great idea when bucciali got this one going for sure, but the rate of upkeep has never been good for any of them.

Right now the American Fleet and Rest of World Fleet are the two that could be considered up to date with regards to the first post. This one, and the English and European ones are snapshots in time at best, with certain other updates captured in the body of the thread only. mini magic is going to get the other two caught up once he's free from school here pretty soon - then we'll just have to stay on top of any new details that come our way and adjust each one accordingly.

Re: Recap of Japanese F1 fleet

One other thing I though I would ask (this thread is probably wrong, but can always be moved) is that in the UK thread it has listed #49 with pics, though as you pointed out #49 is the Whittaker car in NZ, and that there are no know pics of that car. So is it a simple mistake in numbering on the UK thread, and which car could/should it be?

Re: Recap of Japanese F1 fleet

It's another piece of info that has just never been updated. For quite a long time the chassis number of the car depicted in the UK thread was believed to be #049. In September 2007 someone finally got a photo of the chassis plate inside that car and we discovered it was actually #046 instead. As mentioned above, that thread is due for an overhaul here pretty soon and that detail will get corrected.
