yea i thkn you're defaintely right about that.

the wheels/rims i know i could get 900, complete injen 250, tokico's 250, and the amp and sub 200. unfortunately i'll leave the speakers in, too much work to take out. and they did depreciate in value drastically since i bought them. neons would go wtih it to since its already wired with it. also the header is staying., way too much work to take out. i guess if i could get 1160 for all that stuff, i could sell my car for around 5000. locally, not on ebay.

Just playing devils advocate. The reason they chose to put an RB over an SR is cuz the S chassis has an SR and the Skyline is more expensive

The other reason is 6 cyl. looks better than 4 cyl. for the buyer the skyline was after (wanted more luxo. than sport)

I just think if both engines are 2.0 liters why not get the lighter, more powerful, less work/cost intesive engine....its your car though, so back on topic.

uhh, if you're telling me to get the more powerful engine, then i'd be buying an RB. RB20DET has 215hp versus the 205hp of the S13 red-top. and also, RB20's are about the same price if not cheaper then a red-top, and if you start going higher with the SR (black-top, S14 etc.) then it ends up costing more. and the RB20 doesn't need that much custom fab to fit in a 240SX. not when compared to a 25 or 26DETT.

WHatever its your car do as you like.

I found the "real" reason why the RB was in the skyline. Road tax is based on displacment in japan, and Skylines traditionally had a 6 cyl. versus the Silvias 4. The RB20 was created for an entry level engine that had 6 cyl. and could escape the bigger tax bracket.
