For those who are wondering.....

A 1961 250 GT SWB retails for about 1.6 million USD depending on race histroy.

I once saw 250 Le Mans for sale at 750, 000 USD.

and last but certainly far from least, the 162 Ferrari 250 GTO sells anywhere in the neighbourhood of 12.9 million USD.

I can confirm that I have seen these prices either on the net or int he Dupont, and most would agree with the posted figures.

BTW, Menu dei Motori, that is ALOT of Z3's. Where is the pic from?

OK read through this thread viewed some of the worlds most beasutiful cars- including my favourite- the Ferrari 250LM BUT how on earth could a 250 be confused witha 288???? I would understand if you got it a slight bit mixed up with the 308/328- but if you do then- you clearly suck at the noticing the quad-spotties set up and the big muscular vents

Oh and I did mention I have wet dreams about the 288GTO right???

i cant believe it sells at those kind of prices!! just how rare was it??
346 288GTO's were built, the same as the F50 and Enzo. Their should have been 346 F40's as well, but it was so popular about 1500 were built. The F40 is a more desirable car than the 288 (according to car markets) but the rarity of the 288 keeps the cost of the two about the same.:licker:

i read that only 272 288 GTO's were built and around 80 or so were imported to the United States.
And I've seen them online for as low as 160,000 euros (had under 20k km's) and for 280,000 euros (i think it had only a few hundred miles)

I believe that at least 200 cars had to be made for sale to homologate them for racing in a particular series, in this case Rally, I don't know the actual production numbers.

Re: Does the 250 look like the 288????

i think the 1.5 million was the highest recorded auction price back in the supercar craze of the 1980s.

thses days, expect to pay around £200,000 for a low milage (5000 miles) example.
from what i've seen £170,000 seems to be an average.

as it was the basis of a proposed group b rally, at least 200 were to be made.
i think the final count was 272.

Re: Does the 250 look like the 288????

the most a 250GTO ever fetched was 15 million USD. they go for alot less than that now, but still easily into the millions
