Here in Canada until the power train warranty is up, you have to take it in somewhere that does the oil change for you. You can provide your own oil and filter, but they have to change it so that there is documentation that the oil change was done, otherwise if there is issues and no documentation that the oil changes have been done on a regular basis i.e. D.I.Y, they can void the warranty.

No such deal in the US regarding oil changes/warranty. Been changing my own oil on new vehicles for 25 plus years and this one is the first to ever throw me a curve. So far so good. Another 2 days and no problems. Fingers, eyes, legs and anything else I can cross are crossed.
