That body is spectacular. The fit and finish, especially the clear is outstanding. The engine is quite amazing too. What a maze of tubing, all beautifully routed.

It's an MFH kit and it's already painted? Wow. I've never seen it happen that fast before.

The masking and paint job is superb, as with most MFH kits, it looks like it's going to be a great model.

Cheers, Lee

The only reference that I have ever seen for this car and the "blue" area is Mercedes Benz Papyrus Weiss which is pale gray. I honestly don't know why people refer to this car as blue.

If anyone has a reference name or number for a blue and some documentation please speak up!

Edit: Papyrus Weiss can be seen at http://www.e-paint.co.uk/RAL_Colourchart.asp scroll down bottom right.

Wow amazing work so far, superb finish on the body!! Great engine detail. Ive always liked the 3M sponsored livery on this car (mainly due to the fact I use 3Ms vinyls for signwriting)
You should really change your name to Ferrari Fan, coz i havent seen you build a Skyline in awhile. Your builds are awesome, i LOVED the FXX!!!

Thanks!!!! I just finished off a Nismo Skyline a few months ago... you must have missed it..... and a GTR even though that is not a "skyline" anymore...

Re: MFH 1979 512 LM "Cloud Car"

interesting discussion about the color. It's definetely blue not white or grey. But it's more of a light dirty blue, not that kind of baby blue...bla blue bla :-)

check the pics

well pictures don't tell the truth, so mix both pics and you have a good match...a greyish light blue.

Every picture that I recall from actual publication back then matched your second one - making the car grey - which matches up with the only manufacturer's paint ever mentioned for this car in the 30 years since it raced - at least mentioned with any sense of authority as opposed to speculation. I wish someone could cite a paint code but I've yet to see anything substantiating that the car was blue except people's impressions of scanned images seen on computer monitors. There's just way too much variation in scanned images displayed on monitors to base a color reference on.
Next we'll be like the military guys arguing over colors based on our impressions gained from black & white photographs!

Re: MFH 1979 512 LM "Cloud Car"

Grey/blue looks too glossy to be a vinyl colour, as i wont add my option.. But 3M do have a Light greyey blue colour vinyl, dont think it was avaiable in the 70s
