Re: 2009 Peugeot 908: The Lions roar to Le Mans glory

Earlier in the build, I was mentioning that Studio 27 made the wrong design for the taillights

well after much work, I have made it into the more corrected version of the car

If you ever get the opportunity Steve, go for it!

I've just booked the ferry for next year - I think this will be my 13th visit!

The Le Mans Classic is excellent too - there's nothing to beat the sight and sound of a 917 flying past at night.

Re: 2009 Peugeot 908: The Lions roar to Le Mans glory

The start of the livery

The chrome decals are pretty good, its a pain still especially around the front headlights, luckily I only have to do one more. I did the best I could on a very complex shape of the front headlight.

it stinks that S27 made the blue way too dark, the blue should be much lighter.

from the pics, the chrome and the white look very bumpy and wrinkly, but its from the CF decal

cheers,
Steve

Re: 2009 Peugeot 908: The Lions roar to Le Mans glory

2nd front wheel arch is finished, This one was more of a nightmare as the both White decals ripped while carefully working on them, also the chrome section behind the tire crinkled bad while working with both decals, I had to cut the bad one out, and cut to perfect size a new one, I think it went ok all bit for one spot, I can't complain because it still looks pretty good.

as you can see the small damage

what both need is bulb detail and the cover and they are done

thanks for looking,

Cheers,
Steve

Nice work Steve. I really like the detail you put on the inside of the fenders with the carbon kevlar decal. Have you considered cutting the blue off of the decal and painting it instead?

Looking good so far!! That Xbox logo looks very pixelated, is that from the decal sheet?

thanks Mike, I would only screw it up if I did but I believe some of the more experienced painted could do it. I'm just not that skilled enough to do a paint job like that.

ashman, yeah it was the decals, S27 screwed that one up, they also didn't use cartograf decals (which was odd with a limited kit).

Re: 2009 Peugeot 908: The Lions roar to Le Mans glory

with Studio 27 being pretty wrong on the interior, I'm having to make some modifications which has slowed the progress.

and when you have trouble finding interior pics, you use cheats cheats should be very clear what movie this was, one of the best movie/documentaries ever, and youtube helps

the front end is all finished as well

cheers,
Steve

Great build, at last another 908 Builder! I am just loving the detail!
I have made quite a few as slot cars and have noticed that s27 took the easy way out on some of the detail.... Most disturbing is the length of the rear fender. It seems that s27 used the same parts for 07, 08 and 09 where as on 09 the fender was a lot shorter and the air intake pod was modified for that reason. The interior is probably the old version too.

Your car is coming along great! Well done!!!
