It's been a while, but here a little update :

The doors have been coverd with self-adhesive kevlar stickers, and a coat of Tamiya smoke was brushed over them :





It looks a bit "dirty", but that's what the real thing looks like :




To make the screws invisible, I "wrapped" them in plastic. A couple pieces of plasticard, and they're no longer visible :

I found the self adhesive kevlar and carbon stickers on the internet a couple of years ago (I think they came from scaledetails, but I'm not sure).

The Pocher kit has a lot of parts, but it lacks the "nicer stuff" such as kevlar and carbon decals / stickers, heat-shield foil, mesh, brass bolts and nuts, etc.

It's been a while since my last update, and there's little progress, but here are some pics :

Both doors have received their kevlar/carbon stickers and a coat of tamiya smoke :





Then the inside of the doors were glued with 2-component glue :





And I started the first session of filling and sanding to get rid of the F-40 logo :







The gaps in the doors were filled :










It took many hours to fill the gaps, but finally it starts to look good :





The seats are a different story, the OMP version is quite different from the original F-40 seat :



After my first try to make the sides of the interior wider, I found that they're still not wide enough :



The picture gives an idea just how wide they are :



Started cutting an sawing to alter the seats :



But it will take a lot more work to make them look like the OMP ones :

But first it was time to widen the sidewalls. I put a couple of cardboard strips on the floor, just to get an idea how wide the sidewalls will become :



Made a template from cardboard :



An took a piece of transparent plastic to make the new sidewalls. I used this type of plastic because it is 2 mm thick and very strong :



The "fire-wall" got some attention :







The fire-wall will be covered by plastic plates, but this will be done when the sidewalls are finished :



Glued the parts in place, and now it's time to widen the front part of the interior :











Jees, sometimes I wonder what I got myself into. I figured that the model would be completed in a year or two. But with this amount of work (and at the slow rate of progress), it will take a lot longer.
But I'm still enjoying this build an hoping that it will turn into a helluva model

This will be One Hell of a beautiful replica. Your building skills are unbelievable. This project may be alot of work, but Im shure the end results will be worth all your efforts.

Yes, something went wrong with the forum that hosts the pics. As soon as I get a chance, I'll put them back in this thread.

I finally found a way to keep the sides of the body together in the correct position. And I did some work on the insides of the interior :








It looks a bit strange, but when the interior is finished, the steel rod will be hidden from view.

Sofar, I've used 4 sheets (A4) of plasticard.

A little update :

The front end of the interior is "boxed in" :





A dryfit shows where the dashboard will be installed :





The rear end of the interior will get an aluminium plate (1mm thick). This will make it smooth and makes a nice reinforcement for the fragile plastic :



And I added a large plate of aluminium ( 2mm) to the front part of the chassis, this prevents the plastic from bending, and will be used to attach the front suspension :

This car has no "rear-framework" to hold the engine / gearbox, so I had to made one myself.

I took a piece of 2 cm thick transparent nylon, and used my Dremel and a saw to get it in to the right shape. (I have no idea what the framework looks like on the real Beurlys, but it doesn't matter because it won't be visible afterwards) :

The original Pocher model has 4 holes to attach the rear framework to the floorplate :











A dryfit with the (not finished) firewall :



The engine and gearbox will be fixed to a strong steel rod, that runs through the entire length of the car :



Two brass tubes will hold the engine mounts :



And maybe I'll add some more brass tubes to make it stronger :
