No, it goes from a 4-2-2 header that people call a 4-2-1 because we dont get the down pipes with the motors. From there it goes to two mufflers. They dont use cats in japan... I think there are resonators on it, I will have to look into it. Got a ex girl frend that lives in japan We are still cool so I call her every once in a while... She used to own a 92 civic with a ZC... Dumbass

Figured since my jdm b16a came w/ a stock 4-2-1 header which attaches to a cat on the ef8/9 and da6/8...it would be the same on the jdm si civics and cr-xs.

The header ataches straight to a cat?... That sounds fishy! No pun intended...
I will have to call yoshiko and get the lowdown yo!

Quote from website about the 90-91 JDM EF9 Civic SiR:
"The Exhaust Manifold is a typical step-header design with the primaries merging into the secondaries and combining just before the exit diameter for much better torque production. The primaries of this manifold are quite large to handle the increased high-rpm output. The Exit Diameter is a typical 2 inches, however, it is mated to a much larger catalytic converter that is designed to be
less restrictive at higher rpm's."
which proves that they apparently use cats in the land of the rising sun

No, they use resonators... I just got off the phone with yoshiko. She said they dont need cats because they use 98 octane fuel and make people swap motors every 40,000 miles, thus emisions are low and no nead for a cat (At least not on her civic). Her civic had a moded exaust thoe... It is a 4-2-1 But they do have a dual exaust (As in dual muflers) and if I am not mistake thats what most people are talking about when they say "Dual Exaust"

Fourthly I have actualy worked on engines and built them for performance... Anyone in here ever built an engine that makes 900 ft lbs of tq? I have...

*Crickets*
LOL....you sure you want to go there son?

didn't i say it was about driving and reaction time? with that said..... did you possibly take the time to read that the y8 vs zc started already in motion (approx 45mph)....both dropped into 3rd at the same time and went from there? there was nothing about reaction or driving skills.....ENGINE vs ENGINE

btw: travis zc has been rebuilt for turbo and he has CAI.....my y8 has neither

them crickets you were hearing......they knew they needed to stick around for ya :right:

ps....did i forget to mention my vtec wasn't even hooked up

Well I asume he didnt have the turbo on... Therfore a motor built with less compresion than stock will equal less hp than stock... Not to mention >AGAIN I asume< he had put in aftermarket rods... Which are heavier... So it does not surprize me one bit. Those crickets, I OWN them

keep it up seth....

you don't know if you're coming or going.

interesting....all you talk about is internal mods. now suddenly you say "Not to mention >AGAIN I asume< he had put in aftermarket rods... Which are heavier... So it does not surprize me one bit"

so which is it? if you get all these gains from internals the why you talking about heavy rods slowing it down? *sounds like excuses to me*

what is your next excuse you're going to try for the y8 with NO vtec pulling on a ZC? ENGINE vs ENGINE.....how you gonna get around that?

i hope you like those crickets you own.....cuz you're eating them....

i'm going to sleep.....

you can sit here and argue to yourself all night. but you have to face it....the ZC won't outright smoke a sohc vtec anymore than vice versa.

engine vs. engine a sohc vtec pulled on a zc. all the little numbers you like to quote don't mean shit....what happens out in real life does. it happened (zc got pulled on) and there is nothing you can say to change that :finger:

YUM! Extra protien! No but on the real, I just look @ the numbers... There are tons of variables when it comes to engines... Im not doubting you smoked one. But I have smoked a Y8 with my A6... So its all driving skills and hp/tq.
