Re: The Spyder and The GST

Looking very nice. Bottom of your car is spotless! Got tired of the "red neck exhaust" as you called it?

I don't get how you guys had problems with that downward angle. Doesn't make sense. Mine was perfect, and just a crappy ebayer.

Thanks bud, I appreciate it. And yea I detail the underside of my car every two washes. As far as the exhaust goes, I just wanted to quiet this one down a bit and get rid of all the vibration. Me and my girl want to rock this car to the beach some this summer.I still love loud trashy exhausts. Lol actually I took my cousins z71 to the muffler shop the other week to get exhaust run. I was talkin to the guy about what I wanted them to do to it. I told them to do whatever they had to do to make it as shitty sounding as possible.

But back to the car. Yea I tried my best to adjust the exhaust but there was nothing I could do to fix the problem. But its good now. I should have it finished up next week along with some sound clips.

Re: The Spyder and The GST

Looks exactly like mine, although I cut the pipe in half and rotated that so I wouldn't have to reweld the flange possibly warping it. Also going to angle the muffler on mine up when I get a chance, I dont like how its pointing down. Mine doesn't seem to be as bad as yours

Re: The Spyder and The GST

I'm not worried about warping or anything. Everything will be tig welded.

Ahh I love custom work on stuff that SHOULD ideally all fit together perfectly. I'm glad we all have the ability to do that around here.

Dave:
Lol, what do you expect for 100 bucks?

Jason:
The guy that I have doing my welding. He has a shop where all he does is weld.....lol, its called "The Welding Shop"....go figure.
But he's the only person I let do certain projects, like stainless and aluminum, etc. And he is very reasonable with pricing. Lol, he welded a cracked racing rim that I put on my black civic right before I sold it....held air perfect, and balanced great.

Re: The Spyder and The GST

Finished my exhaust on the Spyder today. Came out great. Sounds very quiet, but I like it. Makes it much more enjoyable to drive. Also, Jason had mentioned that on his exhaust the muffler was pointed down some. On mine, the muffler isnt pointed down at all. I need to take some more pics 2mrw, but this is what I got so far.

Also, I got a 2GB front end for my GST. The headlights need to be cleaned though.

Re: The Spyder and The GST

Looks good man, thats doesn't seem to be the same exhaust I have, mine has a huge resinator that probably hangs an inch below the pipe, its hit the ground a few times already. Yea take a pic of the muffler tip. Mine is only pointed down a little bit, didn't really have a choice on that one. I ended up having to put gaskets in my vbands to keep them from leaking, im curious to see if yours leak at all.

Re: The Spyder and The GST

If the v band leaks, I've got a few tricks to fix it. My buddy works at the school bus garage and alot of buses run vbands, so he told me some good ways to seal it up.

Wow, I really havent decided...and I'm taking it to school next week and im going to work on it 2 days out the week every week. So I need to be deciding what color to go with. I originally wanted to go back factory white,.....but if I'm going to put all the work into it to do it right.....I'm thinking I'm going to go with something a little different.

And yea it idles good, just need to fix a vac leak.

Sound clip I recorded for guys on tuners....PEEP IT:
