LMAO... that thing never fucking worked. I once put kerosene into my grandfather's car. Pump wasn't labeled and I started pumping whatever his car was closest to, lol. Christ, I'll bet that was 30 years ago... I couldn't have been 8-10 years old.

"What the hells' the matter with this thing? It's almost like... WAIT! Which pump did you use???? SHIT."

Re: Yeaaaaaaah Boooooooooy

Damn that gave me a good laugh, Jim. Nice to see you got a new dog though, I recently got a puppy myself, female Pitbull with some Sharpei in her, like she's all Pit except for the skin, lol.

Anyway, problem with my Monte Carlo is this.. its overheating. Its not leaking any water, and I really dont know what the problem could be. I mean it runs fine except for about maybe.. 5 minutes the needle just shoots up into the red, says its overheating and then itll drop into normal temperature. after a bit more itll shoot up again, and say its overheating and then go back to normal. It happens more if im sitting still, like it'll say its overheating, once I take off from the light, it'll drop down. I can hear the fan kick on when its at the 3/4 mark, right next to the red. but.. idk ask some questions if youre wondering anything else.

Also it will eventually actually overheat and the car will lose power if I drive it too long (Done this only once, ive quit driving it farther than the corner store here). Also if I turn on the heater to try and get rid of the heat when its overheating the first time and such, only cold air will blow.. so im thinking its maybe.. the thermostat? or.. idk, what you guys think? lol.

Re: Yeaaaaaaah Boooooooooy

Intake manifold gasket? You sure? Hm.. how hard is it to replace?

Oh and what caused it to break/fail?

Re: Yeaaaaaaah Boooooooooy

Not terribly hard at all on a carb'd engine, not sure about one of the new fangled things you've got, lol.

Geno... just out of curiosity.. how in the hell would an intake gasket affect the operating temp???

Re: Yeaaaaaaah Boooooooooy

Rally, have you checked your radiator level lately? Sounds low to me, i wouldn't be so quick to jump to the intake gasket, but if you keep driving around like that YOU WILL blow it.

Re: Yeaaaaaaah Boooooooooy

i don't know how or why, but I know that the intake gaskets are a very common failure on the w-body's. so common, that if you have one, it's guarunteed to fail.

I had a 95 cutlass that acted the same and it was the intake gasket. rally, go sign up on w-body.com and read their forums. those guys know these engines better than anyone.

You know I was just thinking about this some more... a lil cheesecake in the radiator might help. And if you DO end up doing the intake gasket, you might wanna use some on the gasket itself... helps seal it better.

Re: Yeaaaaaaah Boooooooooy

I wouldn't waste perfectly good cheesecake on my car. Usually a good beating with a chain or baseball bat helps. Like the time it kept sliding out of my driveway on Christmas eve because of the ice. I whipped it with the chain, then used the chain to hook it to my truck so it wouldn't slide. Problem solved.
Now i sit here in absolute farking boredom. I just got my associates degree this fall and am not returning for spring. Getting ready to leave on an LDS mission in March, so no time for school, and no time really to get a job(not that there are any in my town anyways). So i just sit around and shoot rabbits in my spare time. Don't even have the desire to work on my car.
