How fast is the new Max compared to the 2003 Max or compared to the 3.5 Altima or G35 sedan?

I know that the G35 sedan 6spd will take both of them since it 0-60 is 6.02 or something. I was thinking more of the lines of the Autos.

actually, car and driver got a 2k3 max to 60 in 6 flat, and a 3.5 altima to 60 in 5.9, so the g35 isn't necessarril faster, it weighs more(i think) and has more drivetrain loss

I agree, i raced one and hung with him for a while, and then I got pulled on. Oh well, I bet he was surprised that I hung with him for that much.

usually the inifinit's aren't as perfomance oriented as their nissan counter-parts. it is the luxury line after all. they usually have heavier cars cuz of all the extra goodies. i think with the right drivers, though, any one of these cars could beat any of the others.

What the hell how did they get the Altima to 5.9? That what I have seen the 0-60 for a Auto and stick G35 Coupe and Auto for a 350Z. That Altima must have had some mod on it. No way Nissan will have its Altima Family sedan be faster than their flagship main car the Maxima and be faster than the 350Z. Then what will be the point of buying a 350Z when u can get a altima for cheaper and has more room.

I am not trying to start anything it just suprised me that they got it to 5.9 secs. Can some one tell me how they did that? IF they can get an Altima to 5.9 sec then you can get the Max and G35 to at least 5.9-5.7 sec. I think those numbers are little off just like the 5.5 sec they got for the G35 coupe. I think the Altima must had some mod at least something like a air filter. I want to get my car below 6.

The car they used for that test is what you would call a "Ringer." Basically what they do is they take all of the stuff that adds weight and remove it and they play with the ECU, maybe add so lighter rims than they would have on them stock and just trim down the weight of the car plus add more things for power.

When the tester goes for the car it looks totally stock but its really been tampered and pampered so they can get the best numbers out of it as a point to make it a sales pitch.

Like Altima the fastest N/A Front Wheel Drive Car in America or stuff like that.
