It got a little windy the other day...

DC Metro area had some insanely warm weather this past week... I was there on Tuesday & Wednesday, and thank goodness I packed my short-sleeved work shirt or I would have died... it was 70*F!!!!

Back in Pittsburgh, PA it is hardly flurrying, but that's okay... In about 3 hours I leave for a day trip to the mountains. They got 4" overnight, and I want to SKIIIIIIIIII!!!!

Yesterday it got above freezing! The snow actually melted a little and I can see the streets again! There's still about 6" of pack on my driveway though.

We had a cold front pass through the area mid day yesterday, dropping the temps about 20 degrees and bringing with it a whiteout so that you couldn't even see across the road. After about a half hour, the sun came back out and all was well. Just about 20 minutes north of me right now they are getting pounded again with lake effect snow off of Lake Ontario( with up to 2 feet of additional snow). Meanwhile it's just plain cold with wind chills hovering between -15 to -25 degrees. Gotta love that lake effect snowstorms.

We're getting another 3-6+" between noon today and mid-day tuesday. That's in addition to the 13.5" we got last tuesday. There's about 16" on the ground in most places... with only a trace from the present storm

They're saying another storm coming through thursday. I was thinking about buying a plow for my truck last fall. I'm kicking myself now, I could have paid for it by now clearing driveways Looking like I'm actually gonna have to shovel my driveway... First time 3 winters living here

Snow is actually quite beautiful, its the brick cold thats unwelcoming. Other than that, I don't mind shoveling, i love the hot cocoa, and as long as i'm careful enough, i love driving in the snow--especially those twisty mountain roads we have around here. I lived in Tampa, FL for a year, and trust me, i hated it. no snow, no hot cocoa, no twisty mountain roads... infact its all flat and straight, with terrible, terrible 16 and 90 year old drivers on the road. and damn, come May, all those friggen love-bugs! Damien, you gotta know what i'm talkin' about, the ones that fly around connected at the ass, so many of them you think its a plague of locusts.

Still, i could go for some heat as there is no snow at the moment. here's the Tri-state area in NY

The area just to the north of me ( about a 1/2 drive) got 48" of snow in a 24 hour period yesterday into today. That's on top of the 4 to 5 feet they received a couple of weeks ago. And now a storm is coming up from PA into my area and we should get 6 to 12 inches by tomorrow morning along with sleet and freezing rain. I hate when freezing rain falls on top of snow. It makes it difficult to clean up and get around.

Not where I live. That's south of me on the east and west coast. Scary place. I'm perfect, between Tampa and Orlando. I can party in either city with a short drive and I can come back to a calm home where there's nothing to do. Luckily I am between these two cities. Even I got tired of Orlando every now and then. But when I was there I could go to Cocoa and Daytona. Here I can go hunting in my grandpa's baakyard. Wait...more I think about it the more I love it.
