Re: 2 Fast 2 Furious... Part 2

And the photos I promised:

Rear end with kit supplied muffler which I may change out

Front suspension. Hard to tell but the exhaust and engine are 2 different silvers

And it took a bit of time in the CSC bath but finally its all striped

I don't remember which kit it came from but its the closest to the real seat

Working on the interior painting and sourcing new sponsor decals as I cant find the file I posted here 10 years ago... If anyone has a set of them I would love to get the file from you. Thanks for watching.

Re: 2 Fast 2 Furious... Part 2

couple updates, but not much

Started work on the roll bar. Its made out of solder. Still a few things left to do.

Also starting on the engine bay. Firewall and wheel wells. Will make a better master cylinder as well.

Re: 2 Fast 2 Furious... Part 2

Well. I got my rims today but was kind of disappointed. I made the spokes too thin and the hub section is very fragile. I edited my file though and made notes for future designs. I'm going to try a few coats of primer then some color and see what they look like. As for size, they are perfect!! Rubber fits, the nylon bushing fits, it fits the model.... just things were too thin.

Re: 2 Fast 2 Furious... Part 2

tip for spokes like that i make them 1mm thick minimum with a .4 bridge behind the spoke filleted at both ends it helps big time with strength. Dont print in anything less than Frosted Detail.

Re: 2 Fast 2 Furious... Part 2

I thought thats what I had selected but I guess not. I may think about editing the file and submitting a new order as I dont see this project being finished in the next month. Update on engine bay. Shock towers are roughed out and it all fits under the body shell.

I used small strips of flat plastic to get the shape I needed and started cutting and sanding to get this

This is the pic I am using for reference so I hope its correct.

Re: 2 Fast 2 Furious... Part 2

Just a quick pic, work has been crazy. Engine bay is pretty much done as far as the bay is concerned. Master cylinder in, just need to get the Turbo Piping situated. Scratched a Optima Battery and fuse box as well. Deciding on how I want to do the nitrous bottles... Wood ones or order some online.

Re: 2 Fast 2 Furious... Part 2

few pics for update. Engine is at home on the engine bay. Blocked out an IC, started IC piping.

Can also see my fuse box and strut tower mounts

Can anyone tell me what the purpose of the part in the upper corner near the wiper motor is?

And one last pic

Will have more updates later. Also building overflow catch and airbox. Also need to put the battery in once its painted...

Re: 2 Fast 2 Furious... Part 2

Engine bay is finished. Now to start on the other aspects of the car. Interior and blue stripes. Also, have to figure how to remove the hood vents and make the hood smooth without making a big mess of the hood.
