that's why i said probably.... cause i haven't seen many people that joined before Feb. so i thought i was one of the first.... plus when i joined there wasn't as much action here

All residential houses have some form of heating unit in them. How often they break down is another issue all together. This was the first time that this has happened.

Hey, I knew exactly what you meant. Canada lately doesn't like that illegal immigrant crap either. Remember about 2 summers ago, 5 ships LOADED with Chinese people tried to get in? Canada said "No-way", and set them packing. Not a single boat has tried since.

I seen this beautiful cartoon in the paper. It was a before and after picture, of a border crossing guard, and his dog. His dog was one of those little ankle-biters - befere Sept. 11, he had on no collar, and after Sept. 11, the same dog was there, but with a spikey collar
! That, was Canada's reply for tougher border crossings...

Canadian Army makes me sick
Ya. Being a fellow Canadian its pretty sad actually that our Immigration laws and our borders are so slack.
Also, the condition of Canada's military is a disgrace. Our military used to be huge, but now it is tiny, and no one wants to join. Why? becuase ppl like Pierre Trudeau (sp?) cut the military's funding to such a low level that it might as well be disbanded. I have a cousin whos an officer in the Reg Forces, and 2 of my best friends are in the Army Reserves, and some of the equipment they have to work with is just disgusting. Yes, Canada does have well trained soldiers, but training can only go so far. The soldiers dont even get issued enough ammo to actually do anything. On a recent peacekeeping mission (i forget which one) Canada's troops had such little ammo, they had to borrow some from the US because they didnt even have enough for each man to load his C7. Also, the vehicles that they have to drive are in such a state of disrepair cause there just plain worn out. Once in a while they get a small amount of new equipment, but its way too little too late. We have CF-18 hornets, but we cant even send them to help the US fight cause the avionics are too outdated. And Navy....I won't even start on this. It almost makes me feel bad to be not able to help fight in some way. I thought about joining the Army Reserves a while ago to make some cash and just help out the country, but its not even worthwile at this point. This is all just my opinion of course, but I am sure there are other Canadians that feel this way.
