Nissans "4 DOOR SPORTS CAR" is the Sentra -R V-spec....THATS like the WRX, the EVO and the rest of the four door pocket rockets...
the Maxima is a family sedan with balls, which would make the SE version at most a Sports Sedan. Either way its a car that can seats 5 ppl in comfort, has 2 less cylinders, AND has 1.1 litres less displacement, and only 5 less hp...... Are you really tryin to tell me that, THAT is not either a) Poor american engineering or B) Amazing Japanese engineering?

I did own one, we owned a 98 Maxima SE....
And dont argue with you? I mean honestly who do you think you are? This is a forum, and as such i am intitled to my own opinion as you are to yours. But what i was tryin to do was disscuss it, but you have to act like a 3 year-old....

Hell i dont even know what we're arguing about.....In my eyes a four door sports car is just that, a car with four doors that, whos emphisis is on speed/sportyness....When i hear that i think of the V-spec, the WRX, the EVO etc. But if you say Sports Sedan, as in plenty of sportyness and speed with a big chunk of Lux. I think of the Maxima, the 5-series BMW, or like an E55.....

no im just imature, and I get that 3 year old, well more like 6 year old thing all the time, but it is a Sports Sedan, so even if im not calling it that, thats what it is known as, and a sentra is a compact sedan by the way....the se-r is the sports package one FYI

and yes WRX and EVO are, so is a 4 door skyline, and the primera, comparing those 2 cars the GT mustang and the Maxima is techincally comparing a sports car and a sports sedan, but hey if you think its a 4 door car you call it that, im just proving a point by arguing =)

this one guy i know has a 02 maxima and said hed kill my 94 mustang gt most ppl said the same we finally got 2 race,we raced twice flat out zero and rolling about 15 the distance was a quarter mile a killed him both times really bad.

i own a 2002 mustang gt. maxima wont touch it due to tourge differences. My car can keep up with a 350z and a 350z will smoke a maxima.. and dude a 1994 mustang wont smoke a maxima maxima has bout 264 hp. a 1994 mustang 5.0 has bout 223hp

Ok but heres the thing. When you posted, it was 2005. All the other people, 2001. So unless you are michael j fox, you aint really in this convo. These people are prob 85 yrs old now. Keep the posting to within a month. But hey, im just glad you kept it within a millenium.

Just wanted to fill some people in. I have a 2002 nissan maxima with the 6 speed. Its loaded with almost every option. Which means it heavy. I have raced a 2002 mustang gt which had an exhaust. Top end the maxima has the mustang hands down. I had him beat once i hit sixth gear. 40 mph roll start mustang takes off but then the maxima catches up. Obviously off the line the mustang wins because it was mainly designed to drag.

Dear god this thread is old.

In any case, Mustang off the line, I would imagine the Max might make up some time at higher speeds. But all things equal, the Mustang shouldn't lose is a straight line race, or any race for that matter.
