Re: Location of GTR's - Index

Hello,

first, I am sincerely impressed by this topic Greg I thank you to put this one up.

I would like to add #05R has Cesar livery and was last seen on Castellet this year.
I am not convinced on #14R and #15R, I think there is a good story about these cars. Remember an orange GTR was seen on A7 in France toward the souththis year...

Second, Carbuilder, I expect you will realize your dream. We are with you

Phil

Were there any pics of this latest sighting :begs:? I really don't think we will know for sure until we see at least 1 of the chassis plates, but it's good to guess

Re: Location of GTR's - Index

Variations on the Davidoff theme with 22R. I figured you might want to include one of each of these, as you captured the multiple variations of #03R's West livery.

This was 22R at LeMans Pre-Qualifying in 1998. It competed in the Loctite livery, but wore essentially a blank version of the Davidoff livery for Pre-Qualifying.

I see you have the "Day Off" version of it's primary livery in 1998, but here's some examples of the unaltered "Davidoff" cigarette branding. Some are good pictures, but none are great representations of the livery per se.

I'll keep looking... and continue trying to pay attention when I do.

I didn't have any pics in my #24R folder with these 2 liveries, but after you posted this I did a search on motorsport.com, and saw #24R ran as number 42 (perhaps I thought it to be chassis #26?) at Le Mans with Soper, Piquet and Llehto, tallying up with what is on QV500. I also found the Davidoff / Day Off / Gulf liveried #24R on racingsportscars.com; again I thought this to be another chassis. Cheers for that, I'll add those pics now

Re: Location of GTR's - Index

Hello,

24R was last seen yesterday at Magny-Cours

A question too, which GTR owns Rowan Atkinson ?

Phil

Hi Phil

It was thought that Rowan purchased #24R, and minimagic's pic sort of shows that, but as you know it's now owned by Paul Knapfield, so as far as I am aware he only owns his road going F1

Re: Location of GTR's - Index

Another BMW livery to add Greg,

Not sure of the chassis # (YES THATS CORRECT, EVEN I DON,T KNOW) this is only the second pic of this 96 GTR I have seen. Very similar to BMW,s 95 (end of) promo chassis 08R, so it is pos, 16 17 or 18 R. The pic may have been taken on the BMW, Geneva motor show stand early 96. If you look to the rear of the GTR, there is also an F1 engine on display.

Only a little...

I'd like to call it #18R if I had to guess, but when it raced in the Hollywood livery in Brazil it had flush headlamps and the extra scoop over the roof vent. Neither of those things would be difficult to add or remove, but who knows...

I have a feeling that some of these McLaren questions we come up with could only be answered after someone perfects time travel.
