Re: Official Chicago Bears thread
I think Rex is done with the Bears. Getting benched in week 4 doesn't bode well for him getting a contract extension. I guess he could get picked up as a #2 or #3 option on a team with an offensive coordinator that can game plan to his strengths. In the right system with a good offensive line and RBs that will block for him, he could really light it up downfield.
What worries me now is what will the Bears do for a QB in 2008? The draft doesn't look to be too deep for that position and I'm assuming (and hoping) the Bears will NOT have a high draft pick unless Angelo manages to make deals and work his way up the board. Old Man Greise is not the future and as much as I like Kyle "Boozer" Orton, he aint the future either.

Re: Official Chicago Bears thread
Well I wouldn't say Rex is done just yet. OK people have to understand that it's not totally his fault. He has good accuracy and arm. Just like you said, he needs a good blocking RB and to take a load off of the QB. The O-Line have to do a better job at protecting the QB and the WR have to start catching the ball. It's too much for Rex with the lack of RB and the O-Line. If I'm not mistaken, I think Lovie is trying to figure out whats the real problem with the offense. So he puts in B. Griese in to see if he also will have trouble. If he does, then it's definitely not Rex's fault. I hate to see him go because I know this guy has the potential of being a franchise QB. We've all seen it last season in the begining. I think they should resign him to a one year contract and let him battle for the position during the off season.

Re: Official Chicago Bears thread
Terrible. Just plain terrible. The more I watch this team, the more I find wrong with it. We're supposed to be getting better but we seem to be getting worse.

Re: Official Chicago Bears thread
Well call it supportive or call it stubborn, but we all know once Lovie puts in a QB it takes a lot to get him out. But like you said it aint just the QB thats the problem. The Grease Monster was sacked 7 times today. He's a frickin statue back there. After thinking about this game today, I really think Grease Ball will get better as the rust comes off. At the very least he needs to stop throwing up INTs cause thats what killed us today.
I think he'll get better but Moose, Berrian, and Benson have had butterfingers lately and that has to stop. Hester is the man, but I wish he had stickier hands too. The Packers defense is pretty good so they better be up to the challenge next week. Peanut should be starting next week but I think the rest of the guys that went down will still be out so Urlacher will have to play like a madman again next week. It looks like its gonna really be up to the defense again to win games this season.

Chicago - 27
Green Bay - 20 Hellz the fuck yeah ![]() This is the first time all season I've actually felt good after a Bears game. Even after the win against KC I still felt a lil uneasy but beating the Pack in Green Bay is the shit! I work close to the Wisconsin border so there's a good mix of GB and Chicago fans there so I get to celebrate in their faces tomorrow. I'm glad the Bears gave me this pick up cause the Cubs definitely ruined my Saturday

OH yeah it was a great game over all. I mean the offense was pretty stable and the defense was not on there "A" game but still manage to hold it together. Our passing defense is awful. And yes Cubs have ruined my year but we still have the Bears and the Bulls. |

Re: Official Chicago Bears thread
I guess its too much to expect the Bears to make exciting comebacks two weeks in a row. I really thought that game was a sure loss in the last few minutes, even after Moose made that sweet ass TD catch and run. Then Hester tied it up and the bar was going nuts! But Peterson made a fool out of the coverage team and that absolutely killed us. One less missed tackle 10 yards up the field and we probably go to overtime and the Bears might have a 500 record... *sigh*

Re: Official Chicago Bears thread
All the praise I gave OU for giving us Tommie Harris is now negated by placing AP in our frickin division. We get to see him twice a year for who knows how long. Honestly, I liked him in college and I like him now... except when he's tearing our D to shreds

Re: Official Chicago Bears thread
Wow that was a goddamn good game today. Unbelieveable plays on both sides. You could see what the Bears are really capable of. Now if they could just catch more balls...........

Re: Official Chicago Bears thread
Grossman is starting to finally look like the improved quarterback he was supposed to be at the start of the season. Might even be able to snag a wild card spot.

Re: Official Chicago Bears thread
I was impressed with the win on face value, but the offense was terrible for 3 quarters and Hester pulld our ass out of the fire. If the Broncos didn't wet themselves in the 4th quarter. I would like to see a playoff berth, but this team is bad right now. Its possible for them to sniff the playoffs with all the other bad play going on in the league, but there are a lot of weak spots on the Bears. The Broncos ran the frickin option on the Bears yesterday like this was Mizzou vs Kansas... embarassing
What really baffled me yesterday though was the Eagles vs Pats where the Eagles minus their starting QB took the best team in the league to the wire and could've won if not for a stupid INT. Yet the Bears beat them on their own field not too long ago. Not to mention the Bears are currently the only thing separating the Packers from an 11-0 record

Re: Official Chicago Bears thread
I think I was the only one who was't expecting a blowout. Good job on the defense coordinator's part with the sacks on Brady and the blitzes. I thought Westbrook would have a little more action, but, after all, Andy Reid is traditionally a QB coach and was with Brett Favre for quite a while. I mean, look at the run they had with Garcia when McNabb went out last year. Reid should know how to make a QB feel confident in himself and last night was a great example.
