Re: Yet another wheel swap.......

seriously, what happened to all the nice guys around here?

slowprocess posted up his pics and i say whatever is on my mind. If I drove a camaro SS, hell, the first cosmetic mods i'd do would be rims and drop, and if i don't have the $$, why did i get a camaro SS in the first place, right? why not just a base model camaro, i'm just saying. He got the $$, he got the rims, the next thing would be a drop, I doubt he's going for the sleeper look, otherwise he would've left on the stock wheels. And if that's the case, then i wouldn't have said anything the wheel gap.

I see a lot of nice imports around where i live (rims, dropped, lip) and i'm not talking about civaks either, there's a lot of sti, evo, s2k, srt-4, supra, 3000gt vr-4, etc... but seriously all the domestics i've seen that are "suped" up have stock ride height. It seems like most of the domestic guys still think their cars are SUVs, maybe not around where you live, but around here, yes. And if you wanna know about my car, then yes, it has rims, and it's dropped.

Re: Yet another wheel swap.......

rice(er), u just happened to catch them before work started again this week. everyone gets grumpy a tad, but its no biggie.

cassies, that post was really harsh. its an open forum, and everyone is entitled to their own opinion. so just relax. i just hope you weren't drinking last night, because of how you posted that.

but maybe Wisconsin is jsut wierd. i see exactly what rice(er) sees on a normal basis. its actually starting to make me mad. too bad i cant find any of it on cardomain or google. people will buy the anniverary edition of the camaro and put 24'' rims on them, and raise them up like they want to go off roading. give them special paint jobs, and think they are the man. its pretty rediculous. no upgrades to the engine, just the huge rims, huge sound system, and they drive really slow at first, but when up to speed, it takes forever to slow down.

Slowprocess, sweet ride. Nice wheels.

Rice(er), lowering a car doesn't make it fast and usually if not done right just fucks up the suspension. Oh, but it looks mad tyte yo! LOL Jeez.

Re: Yet another wheel swap.......

Every car is purpose built when the owner modifies it.

Maybe they don't care about ride height or appearance.

I certainly do not care about my cars appearance. The only appearance modifications I do is wash my car and whatever becomes of performance modifications.

+1.

Ricer(er), just because some rice boy in a Civic or whatever thinks a car should be lowered on rims doesn't mean it should. I personally think that 'Maro looks dead sexy like it is. So what if it isn't lowered. Oh, and no, you are wrong, there are plenty of fast ass imports that have little suspension modifications on it at all. Guy around here as an 800rwhp Poopra, sitting on aftermarket rims that are the same size as stockers, not lowered, or any of that. Just because you probably screwed up your ride by dropping your Corolla and putting it on most likely poorly sized/offset wheels, does not mean everyone else should.

And Chiquae, until the day Ace Snyper gets back, its up to me (and every now and then Mushi)to take up the slack found in the "forum asshole" department. If someones feelings got hurt...get the fuck over it.

Seriously, what happened to you? Was I gone that long? You used to be cool as heck.

I like how people assume things, once they're proven wrong, they shut up. I like how every time I come in here, someone always comment negatively on my car, I admit, I've made nasty comments, but I've learned better since then and was pretty much new to the scene. I've learned to appreciate every make and model. If it makes you feel any better, I will be getting an mr2 very soon. Having said that, as a starving college kid, I do what I can with what I have, not everyone is fortunate enough to have mommy and daddy plant them trees that grows money.

It's pointless to argue in here, what you see in Texas and what I see in Wis can never be comprehended, or perhaps our perspective on cars itself.

Re: Yet another wheel swap.......

Rice rice baby.

Lowering a car will effect the track times. Softer, taller springs allow for better weight transfer.
That is why you see most fast F-Body's sitting as high as STOCK ride height.

I seriously can't be the only one who thinks the pre blued exhaust tip and carbon fiber canister looks dumb, can I? I mean, c'mon, that pre blued shit is like buying pre stressed jeans.

Re: Yet another wheel swap.......

... and in reality they don't turn blue on their own on the car. If your car is shooting flames hot enough to turn the metal blue, you've got something wrong.

It takes a very hot flame, like one off a butane torch (blue flame) to heat the metal up enough to turn it blue. If your car can shoot flames, it'll be yellowish/orange a low temp flame with maybe a hint of blue.

Basically, the exhaust creates a lot of sutty residue and turns the back of the car black. My SR20DET did that, on a white car it made the exhaust side brown. A bitch to keep clean.

Re: Yet another wheel swap.......

if he painted the tip to a straight silver or flat black, it would be fine. thats the only thing i dont like about his car. the fake carbon fibre canister as well i dont like. yet again, i dont like carbon fibre exhausts in the first place, so its just not my taste. otherwise, its clean.

Haha, I love how everytime Rice(er) brings out something that might JUST have a point, and actually MIGHT be accepted by the fellow AF'ers, someone finds something wrong with whatever he does, or doesn't do
I'm loving this!
