The PS3 CAN be better. Depends on what you want to do with it. If you want all the bells and whistles and a better graphics then get it. If you want a nice system with great graphics and no HD movie program then it is definately the way to go. Do not get me wrong I was very close to buying a 360 and I can not say enough about it. It just was not for me that is it. 360 definately still gets the thumbs up from me. Don't me wrong.

i respect both. but...the browsing the web thing....i can do it on my dreamcast. the 360 is great, if you aren't planning on upgrading to HD-DVD or Blu-Ray for quite some time. its also great because you dont need a brand new hdmi tv and such to get almost the same picture quality. most people can't tell the difference on the TV from HD to HDMI. imo its not worth it, unless you have a huge TV and a great surround sound system. But now 360 is being offered with HDMI, so there isnt much about that arguement anymore.

i've also come to realize, why would you need a 120GB HD on a gaming system? i mean, its jut not cost effective, if you have the system already. they stated that the 'new elite' 360, is the same on the inside, jsut different with the hdmi, and new color. so no upgrade to smaller, more heat efficient cpus.

i actually bought the wireless networking usb thing. i got it with all my reward zone cash things. it was worth every penny. i dont need a larger HD, as all my music is stored on the computer. it is streamed via zune, from my router to the 360. movies, videos, music, pictures, anything. i love it. i cam now watch the episodes of top gear in my living room if i choose to. i have in the past. i'll spend my $80 on a larger HD, and stream everything via router. no big deal.

i've also decided to stae my point on the going on the internet via the system. is there a real point? i mean on psp, its decent. on dream cast it was decent as well. but i see no point in it, as there is no keyboard(not too sure if usb keyboards are supported), no mouse to make things easier. its not like you can stop a game by pausing it, then launching the web browser and looking up how to do the next section of the game if you need it. oh, the xbox can run linux as well. if im not wrong, i believe they have had it running on the 360 as well, if you diddnt get the march update via live.

also, there are people doing the region-hack to microsofts HD-DVD drive. they are playing HD-DVDs on their computer, as a cheap HD-DVD drive. also, sony's ps3 blu-ray drive sends signals to sony if the drive is hacked or not operating properly. they can just disable the unit all together. so much if sony decides to go crazy and all pirated movies that are playing on the blu-ray, could allow riaa/mpaa to catch you easier i guess.

also, for me, 360 has more games for my tastes. gears, halo 3, forza 2, fable. pretty much a bunch of all around games. ps3 has the games that were with ps1 from the beginning with upgrades. so you already know what to expect. i mean tekken isnt fun to me. DOA is fun though. and i havent seen anything that looks good for ps3 to me. maybe the F1 game, and ninja gadian saiden or w/e its called. but rumors and the interview with the trailer, it looks like ninja gadien from the original xbox, with upgraded graphics is all. the new gran turismo doesnt even make me think if its going to be a rival to forza 2.

in all im not trying to sound like a 360 fan boy or biased to 360, but i just like it too much more. i know people that have ps3's and hate the fact that there isnt any really good games for it, that aren't ports to other consoles as well. also, i've never seen the 360 froze at my bb or walmart or anywhere, except in my own house, when i was playing gears for about 12 hours straight. i then decided that i needed to take a huge brake, and get some sleep. but i've seen ps3 froze quite a bit and nba 2k7 had a really wierd feel to it compared to 360's nba 2k7. so, idk. i could care less about how it sounds like a airplane and such. its not like most of us play it w/o sound anyway.

Yeah the PS3 does not have much for games yet but like I said you have to keep in mind it is a very new system so give it some time. And it all depends what you are planning on doing with your system. Like I said for a lot of people the 360 is a perfect fit, just not for me. I enjoy my 1080p on the LCD, but thats just me. And I do use my PS3 like a computer, I am getting a wireless mouse and heyboard so it should actually prove very useful. If you just want a gaming system then definatey buy the 360. Either way, they are both great systems, you just have to decid what is right for you.

i hate the xbox controllers, they're such a pain. but PS2/3 controllers just fit. they just work, they're ergonomic and they're not all flashy or anything.

i've never liked the xbox, and won't ever get one. i'm surprised you can run linux on a PS3, never heard about that before, or its net-based capabilities.
