Hi mate, sorry for my late answer, had a busy time at work. I have still no idea what could be wrong. Does anyone else here have problems to see the pictures in this WIP?

auw12 had some probs, but finally was able to see my original album. My latest assumption is that restrictions may apply to certain countries or content filters for your browser, but I'm not sure. As some part of my URL (... funpic ..) seems pointing towards pornography (but does'nt) for some filtering software it could be this reason.

Has somebody a clue to overcome this issue? It would be painful for me to move with all my pictures (~ 1,100) to another free hoster ...

Updates to my build will probably follow during the weekend.

Thank you, Paul

If I can make a suggestion? The brass metal ties really stand out on the fuel lines. Try white nylon thread. It looks a lot more like the cable ties that they originally used and doesn't stand out.
@robrex: Thank you, Rob - i removed the copper wire and replaced it with white thread. Much better now.

I also made som progress with the chassis tub. On went the front rollbar plus instruments. Tubes & wires to the instruments are a collection of standard stuff of the kit and additions from several junk pieces of electronical hardware. Joining cables is done with very narrow rings of shrink-tube. Looks also acceptable I think ...

The flour on the steering wheel and seat is still untouched by the mice. @auw12: The mice are no joke - we are sharing our house with a tomcat who sometimes brings mice just to play. If they escape we have mice which would'nt be here without the tomcat - strange animal.

As you may have noticed, I changed plan for the security harness as well. I made them of ribbon intended for packing gifts & flowers. The hardware comes from the Acustion PE set. I have to shape the belts a bit before applying the decals. The gate of the gear-lever console is BMF, the rest of the shift assembly out of the box with Metallizer colors.

I'm also preparing the bake and clutch hydraulics at the front of the tub. I'm still fighting with the green tubes and mybe have to change to something thinner and softer. 'T'-joints have also to be produced; find below my first try of some tree part.

I'm now back to the gearbox and the rear suspension. The weekend is almost over ...

Question Re: 1979 Ferrari 312 T4 - 1/12 - 60th Ann. Group Build

Hi Paul,

Just started (today!) the build of my 312T4 - and was impressed by the nice metallic shine of the chassis monococque.

What type is it?

Regards, Filip.

Re: 1979 Ferrari 312 T4 - 1/12 - 60th Ann. Group Build

Hello Filip,

Thank you for reminding me of my waiting project. Did'nt touch it since May. The chassis tub (and several other parts attached) were treated with Model Master Metalizer colors in different shades.

Other people here do impressive things with Alclad. But I'm not an airbrush guy - which is required toying with Alclad. I'm happy with my brushes ...

Couls I encourage to start a WIP as well? I'm still busy at work and maybe you come close. Motivating my competition attitute probably?

Hope to get going again with my build soon, thanks for looking.

Paul

Re: 1979 Ferrari 312 T4 - 1/12 - 60th Ann. Group Build

That might be a good idea, to start also a WIP, but at this point I'm not far enough yet...

Looking for documentation about this car - any suggestions where to find detailed photographs? I already bought the Rainer Schlegelmilch book but it only contained 1 detail pic

Rgds, Filip

Re: 1979 Ferrari 312 T4 - 1/12 - 60th Ann. Group Build

Hello Filip,

It was not easy to find photos in the web. I was searching, downloading, and archiving - you may download the package http://www.reisers.net/downloads/1979_312T4_F1.zip
and please tell me when it's done. I need the webspace ...

See you
Paul

Great work on the T4. Some interesting techniques being employed here and plenty of food for thought (and I don't mean flour).

Re: 1979 Ferrari 312 T4 - 1/12 - 60th Ann. Group Build

Sorry guys - I didn't make it in time. Was just too busy at work and had to give it priority.

What do you think - shoult I remove all reference to the 60th Anniversary and continue if I'm ready? Anyone else who did not make it?

Have nice Christmas days and a happy New Year,
Paul

How about 60th.....Almost! LOL!

Keep at it when you have time, beautiful car from an exciting time in F1 that was about to be phased out by the Turbos and then Honda....

Re: 1979 Ferrari 312 T4 - 1/12 - 60th Ann. Group Build

... yes fire_n_ice, I'm still alive. Very much more than this thread. But the Ferrari is still waiting for it's completion.

As I said - interesting working life at the moment.

I will continue when I find the time, I'm a real slow builder. And Gilles was one of the 'Garibaldini', the most favoured character types of not only people in Canada, but of Enzo Ferrari himself. He seemed to love him like a son.

And I feel priviledged having seen him acting live on the track. Will never forget that battle with Arnoux in the French GP when both were flying parallel for two laps!

So just relax, maybe subscribe to this thread. I will continue reporting when building fun starts again for me.

Thanks for looking,
Paul
