Funny thing I heard on the radio not too long ago-

Caller: Yeah I'm driving through the rain at the moment- it's mad out here
DJ: Really? What are you driving man?
Caller: A Mondeo, mate
DJ: So you're a sales rep???
Caller: Yeah


In case you didn't get it- Mondeos are all over the road over here- I see them by the thousands- always driven by either sales reps or junior executives. Same thing with Vectras.

r u serous you neighbors have two ferraris mondenas they are the best except for the ferrari 550. I see that me and you have the same favroite car. I think the 550 is the best car ferreri has come out with by far except for the 360 spyder. Also i will look into the ford mondeno thing i bet they are cool well ttyl

Hey BTW, I think the Mondeo was sold in the states under a slightly different name and slightly different design. I thinkt it was called the "Contour" and Mercury "Mystique" in North America.

The Mondeo and Contour I believe were pretty different- I managed to talk my dad out of buying a Mondeo V6 Ghia- can you imagine what the depreciation would be like he liked the VW Passat better than saving money anyway

I simply can't understand how some americans (I SAID SOME) could be so .. let's say DUMB ! Ford is an american company and you've never heard about Mondeo ... ok. You don't watch TV either ? you've invented it. Many competitions were Mondeo has challenged and won a number of cups and trophyes.

You see a Mondeo in US and say: OMG ! HEY LOOK OVER THERE ?
- WHAT IS THAT
- WHAT ?
- THAT THING OVER THERE
- GOSH ! I DUNNO ... IT'S A FORD !
- YEA AND IT SAYS MONDEO ON IT, I'M WONDERING WTF BUILD IT , IS IT NEW ? A PROJECT ? PROTOTIPE ?

ok , let me clear this thing between Mondeo (FORD) and 156 (ALFA). First thing we're talking about AFLA & FORD , ALFA is way over FORD.

Now let's compare the two models. WE CAN'T.

Take my ex.: in Europe, someone is thinking to buy a new car ... let's say he has to choice between 156 and Mondeo. Like anyone the first thing it thinks is THE PRICE. Mondeo = cheap , Afla = expensive. Not such a big price difference between the two models.

NOW, the guy thinks like this: "hmm .... a ... let's say 4.000 euro price difference, and automatly choices Mondeo in its mind. Now he only things at the price and he doesn't give any importance to Afla , no matter that she is great lookin' then Mondeo, more powerfull, etc. etc.

so his final choice is Mondeo.

This example is for someone who has a pretty limited budged and no matter how much can save counts to him !

Finally goes home and says: I've made a good choice. Good car. Instead of taking Alfa I took Mondeo and I've saved some bucks too !
