Re: WIP: Ferrari 575GTC, 1/24 60th aniv. AF build
That paint is excellent!! The color suits the car very well. The rivets are damn expensive

Re: WIP: Ferrari 575GTC, 1/24 60th aniv. AF build
Body is clear coated with Zero 2K clear coat just with few lighter coats as a base for decals, it will be cleared one more time when decals cure, I can say that I am very pleased with this clear, I have tried few automotive 2K clears but this one is "the one".
Decals were next, I can just say that they are perfect, one of the best I tried. ![]() ![]() One more thing in interior that is not included in kit is fabric hose, it is detailed with electric connector for more realism. ![]() ![]() ![]() Electronic boxes got some of the previously prepared wires. ![]() Then I started to prepare parts that will go in Alclad. All parts are primed with MM (Testors) gloss black and then painted like this: Wheels-Polished aluminium Exhaust and fire extinguisher- Chrome Electronic boxes-Duraluminium ![]() ![]() Seat and dash board were primed with MM enamel black, then I sprayed Tamiya grey primer from approx. 1,5m for texture and then painted with lightly diluted Tamiya flat black also from 1m distance. Back of the seat is decaled with supplied Kevlar decal and painted with Tamiya smoke. ![]() ![]() ![]() I also made brake hydraulic hoses using soldier wire and Sakatsu items. ![]() More progress soon. Thanks for watching. |

Looking great!
Isn't that your first 2K clear which you used by airbrush? ;-)

Re: WIP: Ferrari 575GTC, 1/24 60th aniv. AF build
I don't have much to show but I spent enormous amount of time on this step.
First I applied clear over the decals, it went on OK, little bit of orange peal but it should have been easy. ![]() I left it to cure for three days and started by sanding of some dust particles with MicroMesh 3200, then orange peal with 4000, then everything with 6000 and finished with 8000. But I wasn't careful enough and sanded of Siemens decal from bonnet. I was desperate, I already decided to leave it like that MEN were the letters that was sanded of but then I took spare decals and after I polished the bonnet I carefully made new letters from thin white stripe, letter by letter, it is not perfect but if you don't know where to look it is almost invisible. After that I used various automotive polishing compounds to polish entire body. At the end I brought the shine back and made almost everything smooth but tinny scratches remained, they will be rubbed away latter on. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Then I continued to work on the interior, putted the decals on, and various wires for connections. ![]() ![]() ![]() This step really tired me, I think I will take small brake now. Sasa this is just ball-bustingly, jaw-dropingly stunning work!
![]() Great save on the decals too! I hate you - not because of your skill, but as if I didn't already have enough kits, I want this one too now!
