the best solution is to eat a big bowl of pasta before you go out drinking. it absorbs the alcohol, meaning you can drink more and also the effects are so bad the next day. the thing that really gives you hangovers isn't alcohol, it's the other drink in alcoholic drinks. things like vodka give "better" hangovers due to having less crap in them. things like alco-pops are full of additives and stuff so they make you feel really screwed up the next day.

my point exactly. cheap shit has more additives (alco-pops are full of flavourings and that) it's all chemicals. stuff like cognac, wine, vodka, it's got more natural content.

well they arent additaves, they are impurities. the expensive stuff filters ot our and uses higher quality stuff.

i've heard the opposite about sugary drinks... BUT, they cause you to slowly grow a vagina...

ok, so the additives are bad, but sugar? i usually have red bull and grey goose. i think if i didnt have like 10 of em, id be ok. i usually drink a half pint before i even go out too! keep in mind i weigh like 135, when i was 18 i used to puke off the halfpint! now my tolerance is way up, i usually stop drinking when i run outta money. last week i spent 70 bucks after the half pint...

I don't know what the chemical explanation for why the sugar promotes hangovers, but that's what I heard at some point in college. I don't like sugary drinks anyway so it doesn't really affect me.
