The rear bumper cover protrudes rearward from the bodywork beneath the tail light (or bottom of trunklid) by the same amount as the front bumper cover - 65-70mm. I've given these measurements because this is where the covers will need to sit so that everything lines up ok with the wheel arches.

Got the photos of the cover and bumper back today and they were all double exposured! Not to worry, I'll take some more but it'll have to wait until this time next week. Hopefully I'll have them posted by next Friday. I wanted to get some better measurements of the bumper itself anyway so this will work out ok.

Grant - George, Just a wild idea

I know the front bumper cover from the above T4 is stuffed, but if your mate still has it and was only going to dump it, is it worth shipping to George anyway just to try it for fitment?? I was thinking that even if it is broken he may be able to mock it up on his G20 just to see if it'll work. Then I guess it wouldn't matter about breaking it down to fit in a smaller package for shipping. I think if it was cut in half my sister could take it to LA with her normal luggage (since other crew members have taken their surfboards) so it shouldn't cost for shipping ex Auckland to LA.

Also, Geo mentioned that he might be interested later in a rear bumper/cover from the same spoiler set - whats that like on your mates T4??

Wow. This would be really cool. I'd even be willing to pay the freight. Just how bad is the front bumper cover? What I'm curious about is if enough of it is OK, then I can cut part of it away and do some test fitting. If the entire front end is stuffed, then it won't work of course.

I really appreciate your help on this. I've been wanting to find this information out since I bought my G20.

I finally measured the extension of the bumper covers.

Front 90mm
Rear 100mm!

From these measurements I'm thinking it might be possible to install the JDM bumper cover over the USM bumper, but of course that's total speculation at this point. Having the bumper off the stuffed T4 would go a long way towards figuring this out. If I can figure it out, I know there is a market here in The States for Primera bumpers.

BTW, I heard from my friend in Japan about the lube intervals. His owner's manual says nothing about it (strange). He's going to check his UK Haynes Primera manual and get back with me. I'll send you a private message with his e-mail address.

Hopefully that extra extension is all due to the styrofoam and you might be able to set the bumper cover into position after it's removed.

If Grunter can't help with the bumper cover, I'll ask around here and see if I can scrounge something up. If we can get a couple of broken covers, you might be able to get a plastic welder to stitch them up into a good one

Re the lub oil queries: I have a translated version of the JDM P10 owners manual and it doesn't give the 4wd lubricant specs either. I also have the Uk Haynes manual which doesn't cover 4wd. Don't want to stuff it up since it involves viscous couplings and VLSDs. Thanks for the address, I'll write to him soon.

Hell yes I've heard of it. I plan to put some structural foam in the frame rails of my Sentra SE-R (a B13 with the SR20DE and a really good suspension - but not as good as the P10). The B13 coachwork is somewhat flexible and the foam really stiffens it up. I don't think the P10 really needs it. It's quite stiff.

Thanks again for your help. BTW, Cameron might be able to find the info you need from a dealer in Japan. Also, if the T4 VLSD is similar to the one in the FWD cars, it's a sealed unit so you won't have to worry about that. I suspect the lube is GL-4. GL-5 has an additive that the synchros don't like.

Oops, I was editing my post while you replied to trim it down a bit. Glad you saw it first though. I'll be real happy if I find out I've got sealed units although the rear diff does have a drain plug

We have a shop in town that can weld some kinds of plastic, must be something like that over there too.

I will contack my old work and see if they have a listing (part number) for the G20 and see if the part number for the Primera is the same.

Nissin' King couldn't help with a damaged bumper cover
The following are a couple of very rough sketches to give you a general idea of how the bumper and cover fit together along with all the pics I have. I suggest you print the sketches for comparison when looking at the pics. The dimensions are a little rough as well. The pics are only low res (100dpi) so I don't use up too much space on the forum - let me know which ones, if any, interest you and I can scan them at higher resolution.

The bumper had the driving lights attached in the pics. Of particular note is the spacing between the bolt holes in the bumper brackets - could this correspond to the difference in extension we've discussed previously? The bumper sits against the number plate indentation and a couple of ribs either side of it in the cover. The top curved edge of the bumper fits into a slot in the cover that you'll see in the sketch and pics while the bottom surface of the bumper rests on another rib/flange. Also note that in the pics, unlike the sketch, the bottom of the bumper brackets kick down a little from the bottom of the bumper (didn't notice that till I got the pics back so no dimension). The brackets fit inside the open ends of the two main members that run either side of the radiator.

Remember my sketch is only to illustrate how the peices fit together - they are not accurate shapewise.
