Re: peta this

I actually did run over a rabbit once. I was driving to school with my dad, we were in the truck, it was dark. I put the high beams on so i could see better and to be a prick to the guy in front of me. I then saw a small flash of white, made no attemp to swerve cause this could mean dinner, and the satisfying "thud" of head on bumper contact. I figured the thing was to mangled to eat so i kept driving, wiping the tears from my eyes and laughing histerically.

Re: peta this

my dad made me take hunter safety and bought me a compound bow and all that since we're such a big hunting family. i was like "seriously dad, no way am i EVER going to kill anything, big waste of time and money"...i was such a crappy shot, still am..i think he's sorta disappointed i'd rather go out in the woods and feed and try and pet the animals instead of bring home dinner.

Re: peta this

well that's handy, you can lure them closer with food and the like, then when they're near they feel all the power of a 12-gauge. job done.

Re: peta this

are you proposing an AF hunting trip? cuz i wouldn't feel very safe unarmed..giving mo a gun is just begging to get shot. he's a little too for one anyways. he can just come feed the bunnies grass and pet them with me.

we've hit so many pidgeons in london, that thud (or crunch) is the most satisfying sound, i hate them. the bus is so fun, we have double-decker ones in london and i often see then fly past as the bus is moving and they get hit by it, you see them smack into the windscreen. i'll never get tired of that.

I think Bear is the best of the lot. Venison and Elk right behind it. Rabbit is ok, but I don't think I have any real good recipies for it so the jury is out on that one.

After I kill, gut and carve up the critter - it sure does taste better

Re: peta this

kangaroo is tasty. it's like steak. tastes better when you know it was "prepared" by the 'roo bars of a road train.

Re: peta this

I like turtle. And alligator.

The whole running-animals-over-for-fun is a little creepy...

Re: peta this

I think I feel a little too guilty sometimes. I carry the weight of every single piece of roadkill I've ever seen.

For as long as I can remember, everytime I see an animal on the side of the road, I feel genuinely guilty and just think, "I'm sorry."

I should really get over that...
