Re: WIP:73 Dodge Challenger

Thanks, I've now painted the exhaust, which
was built in to the chassis, , so I had to use a
paint marker very carefully.

-Note: Those pics were taken before the car
was primed, in fact, I'm actually going to do
my base coat today! I don't know if i'll get
around to pics, i'll try.

Also, I'm doing a sex change operation on
my wheels, they always wanted to be a man!
Maybe even pics of that later?

Re: WIP:73 Dodge Challenger

I'll be getting my first airbrush soon, so i'll just wait and airbrush the basecoat. It's a Badger Crescendo, I heard good things about them.
I'm painting the engine bay the same color as the car, so I had to tape off the engine

This is the color i'm painting it...

This is off-the-subject, but I just got the new Ferrari F430-gonna do it black

Re: WIP:73 Dodge Challenger

There you go, body's looking pretty good now. You should definitely try prepping that primer with some decently mild grit, 800 or 1000. Should try investing a few bucks on a tube of filler as well, for all those little scratches and gouges.

Re: WIP:73 Dodge Challenger

I just felt like taking a picture of the box art
to show what they think it should look like.

Here you can see I taped off the vinyl roof, and also the black stripe.

This is what the stripe will look like, since you can't really see the tape.

Look at the instructions from this japanese kit.

Re: WIP:73 Dodge Challenger

Revell makes a '70 Challenger, not sure about hasegawa,
and lindberg shared the '72 Challenger mold with monogram.
The 70-71 challengers were a different body style than the
72-74, otherwise I would have used the revell, which I do have.
This is an ARII kit, they're not well known.
I think somebody did one forever ago, on AF, it was silver.

Re: WIP:73 Dodge Challenger

Only a little progress, but here it is anyway...

The dash...

I was going to repaint the grill, then I realized
how thick the paint was, so I stripped the paint,
but accidentaly stripped the chrome...

Yet more...

Touched up the door a little.

Repainted the tailights with tamiya red clear.

That's it.
