Nope. The old 787 had a 5-speed during its era, and so it is available as such in GT3. And its already a 'racing transmission' being that it is fully adjustable, so GT3 won't allow you to buy another (basically it is already purchased). But you don't really need it, since the powerband is way broad and you have power all the time. Excessive gearshifting kills time too, so some cars are better off 5-speed anyway.
One question is, when you see the transmission gear adjustment screen, you can see a 7th unused gear (much like how 6th gear is unused in a 5 speed car)--are there any cars with 7 speeds in the game? I haven't gotten all the cars yet, but I already have most of the high end cars and none of them have it. I'm suspecting either some of the Formula GT cars or perhaps the Speed 12 may be 7-speed. I remember there being a Corvette with 7-speeds some time ago, but I don't remember that well.

Anyone remember the days where the black FTO LM edition was a sweet all round car and the CRX del-sol with the silver viper stripes!! now that car was nice!! but ill have to say one of my favourite cars through all of the games is the GTO twin turbo, in GT1 and GT2 the older ones are faster!! but in GT3 u cant get them too 1000bhp anymore
 oh well still sweet
