Does anyone have any suggestions as to what kind of modern modifications I can do to the car? Such as to the suspension, steering, console... anything. This will be a car I actually use so I want it to drive as well as it possibly can.

Thank you
Anyone? Anything?

By the way, I started a web page to monitor my progress on the restoration.

I tried to add it to my sig but I don't know if it worked.

Here's the link:

Sorry, didn't see your post. In terms of suspension and steering, the sky is the limit. You can do a simple rebuild of the stock components. You could also step up, using bolt-on parts, to a firmer handling car. Finally, you can spend $15k+ to make the car handle extremely well.

I've seen consoles from mid-70s Mopars adapted for late-60s Mopars. Changing your interior will offend the purists. Permanent mods will hurt the value of the car. That being said, a competent custom interior shop can do anything that you can imagine. Just a hint: I've got a rallye dash from a '69 Superbee in my car. I designed and fabbed up this gauge panel for it:

Re: New here, have some dumb questions...

That is awesome work, Peter. I'm missing the front of my guage panel so I'll have to build something of my own as well. I'll probably start off with sheet metal then maybe form something out of wood later on. I'll have to do the same to the top section of my console as well so whatever I do I'll make them match.

Thanks for the reply and keep checking the site. I've made a few updates the last few days. I would of done more work on my grill this weekend but it's my gf's birthday so I've been spending time with her. But this week and next weekend belongs to my charger.

Re: New here, have some dumb questions...

These guys are good for stock replacement components:
http://www.espo.com/
They can sell you a whole front end kit for reasonable money.

These guys specialize in handling Mopars:
http://www.firmfeel.com/
They can sell you bolt-on handling performance equipment. I bought my road racing power steering box from them. Ask for Dick Ross.

http://www.arengineering.com/ sold me my 13" front disc brake kit, plates to box the lower control arms, CNC'd me the center caps for my Bullitt Mustang wheels. Andy is a good guy to work with.

About 300 miles from you is http://www.texasacres.com/ they are Mopar specific parts company. He can be kind of expensive, but he's well stocked with sheetmetal and other components.
