Re: 406.60mph WIP

Damn those look awsome!!!!

Your detailing of cylinder heads with those mysterious thingys and do-whats that I don't understand is just ballistic! The more so that it's all handmade

The painting is great too, but that's no surprise is it?

More please!

Re: 406.60mph WIP

thanks, Klutz. well a bit more progress here.

the frame out of the box.

the frame modified a bit around the driver. i had to sand alot of mold lines and fill sink marks and small flaws. i only had some blurry black and white pics to go from but i feel the roll bars around the drivers head is pretty accurate and quite more representative then what revell provided. but there is a shroud that goes around the top and front of the bars that i will make later so if i would have left it alone it still wouldnt be so bad i think. the main problem was that it was in such poor shape and the bars go outside the shroud so that was the main reason i re-did the rollbars from scratch.

tomorrow's forecast- warm ambition front moving in and 99% chance of having the wheels mounted. now that the games are over, its back to work.
cheers all,
Les

Re: 406.60mph WIP

we have wheels, and finally it's looking like a car.

i'm still waiting for stuff in the mail so progress will pretty much stop for now as i need the wires on the engines before i install them.
cheers all,
Les

Re: 406.60mph WIP

Everything I've seen so far indicates that it's goint to be a stunning model. I love the engines, love the chassis, love the attention to detail.

Re: 406.60mph WIP

Amazing work so far. Your corrections and additions are just stunning. This is going to be an incredible build in the end. You are proof that it's not the kit - it's the builder.

Re: 406.60mph WIP

This is an incredible buildup, In one respect it stinks the kit quality is so bad, but in another it is great because of all the far more realistic and accurate scratchbuiling that is going in to it. Kudos!

I built this one a few years ago and totally appreciate what you've accomplished so far! Keep it up!
