Re: Sr20det Or Sr20de

Sorry bout that. Its 1200 not 1000 i just checked it. I have about 5 different quotes from differnt shops and shit. The closest ive gotten is 1600 but it would be done in 2 days opposed to almost 2 weeks with my mechanic. (He has other cars to lol)

Re: Sr20det Or Sr20de

You seem to know nothing. It's a side effect of using terms like "insane suspension" and "how much would an upgraded turbo cost?" With the amount of money your ganna put into this car, get an FD or an MKIV, that'll kick that Accord's ass stock.

When i say insane suspension I mean some thing that is going to be good for street and track. And before you bash me you should read my posts a little better (no offense intended). I said how much would it be to install it on the engine. The reason i asked that was because I was just curious if anyone else on here had done it and could give me a ballpark figure. Im just starting to get into the Nissan Scene. I just wanted advice. If ive offended you or something well then im sorry.

to get someone to slap a turbo on an existing turbo engine, without any manifold changes, and if you have all the correct piping, shouldnt be more than an hours worth of work, so if its a mechanic, id say 90 bucks.

Re: Sr20det Or Sr20de

There's a hundred turbos out there that will be an upgrade, "upgraded turbo" means nothing.

Re: Sr20det Or Sr20de

your going to spend 2500$ for an upgraded kit using a T25 still? What a ripoff.

HKS is one of the most advanced aftermarket companies. the reason why Hit_N_Run-player said it was a rip-off, is because youre already running a T25 turbo. besides, i read some where you can have +-300BHP out of an SR20det with a HKS suoer suction kit, HKS super drager exhaust + a good ECU.

you dont have to upgrade the T25 turbo (yet), unless you wanna run big power.

if you want to run big power, try and get a RB25det engine. is has about 250 or 280 bhp, single turbo, RWD(unlike nissan's RB26DETT state-of-the-art $wd system)... the RB series engines can be tuned up to 500 BHP without internal engine mods. the RB26DETT is capable of 1600BHP(out of a 2.6 liter engine, mind) and then the block cracks between cilinder 3 and 4.

so, if your going for a 'drag' racing set-up, and still drivable, and nearly the same as the stock RB25 MPG, then you should go for the RB25DET with +- 500 bhp.(400 bhp is unleashed with just a few tweaks, exhaust, ECU and a suction kit).

Re: Sr20det Or Sr20de

an RB swap is more complicated than an SR, and is more costly. Plus with an RB series engine you dont have the aftermarket support here like you do with the SR. Id think that an SR, with an intercooler kit (with piping), and upgraded turbo with tuning would probably be pretty good for you. Do you want to keep running an internal wastegated turbo, or external? And are you looking for BB or 360* thrust type?

Uhhh... Try again. Just because its not some dumpster T3 from 1960 like everyone here has in their wish list doesn't mean its a ripoff.

The GT-RS is essentially a Garret GT2871RS and can make 450whp with supporting mods and a good tune.

That doesn't seem to costly for HKS stuff. you could probably do all the same stuff for a little less, though.
